sorry to spoil everyones fun, but the chances of getting ANY high techs or players machnies are zero. that includes my beloved golden game and monopoly..

that said, alot of it is down to customer interest/requests. ive seen alot of people playing joker pokers, magic games, party SLUTTO, cashino, random spinner, project mega500 etc etc.

against my wishes, we`ll probably get a OXO 3 player, not my first choice, but people play them though.. perhaps i`ll make it mute and be done with it ;)

Nah i came in and saw you were an old git and left :D
Nah iv stopped smoking weed now so im hoping that i wont have the memory of a gold fish any more lol

in all seriousness though this is great news and would be a great occasion for a few of us to get together and have a proper chat and a few pints. :)

I've read this entire thread tonight, how sad am I?

Good luck Nails....I've never been to Brighton. Need a busful of northerners to come down before I ever go that far south...lol. I think you are right to stick to lo-tech machines as this will cut out the chavs and give everyone a fair chance to win. Be friendly to the customers...and know that they are always right (unless they are scummy chavs) and your arcade will boom I'm sure.

P.S: Get the footie on Big Screen!!!...lol

Had some cool machines on there though. Do you know where i could download that vid from? Ya even had me favourite one i play when Party Time is crap down my local arcade, Top Slot. I think that plays better than Party Time anyday. Have you got any more DVD's like that and do you have any for sale? Wouldn't mind one.

It's an on-going project for arcades, as soon as we get more new machines, the collection will grow, so owners can pick and choose the clips they want for their arcade. as for price, 2 plasmas a dvd player and the disc is going to set you back a couple of grand, though i`ve not arranged a price for a single disk yet.

i have a reason!

Ive discovered that new irish cider Magners! f*** me, a totally inoffensive cool fresh drink, easily mistaken for a softdrink once you got a few in ya. served with a pint glass and ice..

did you know...

due to changes in licensing laws, providing thaty alcohol is not your main source of income, you can now sell alcohol in arcades. we have a guy with a liquor license and seriously thinking of having a small `bar` within a future arcade. I recon we`ll charge a good £3-£3.50 a pint for strangers, but regulars get it for £1-£2 a pint.

drink up ady, were leaving for wetherspoons now.

Nails, when does your arcade open?

Also, have you finally chosen what machines you will buy?

In terms of Sec 16s i would buy-

1 Astra Party Games Slotto- Not in charts but lots of people play them.
1 Barcrest Rainbow Riches- No.2
1 Project Mega Bars 500- No.3
1 Reflex Cash Explosion - No.1
1 Reflex Vegas 500- quite popular anyway

Numbers are the chart numbers in Coinslot Top 10 sec 16.

From Coinslot June 9th- June 15th 06 Page 23.

a very good list you have their m8, i dont mind a cashino, elvis or the other barcrest range, placing in a vegas500 wouldnt be a problem!

Um, maybe that is one reason why i said it, as i knew it would be easy for you to get one and when the new legislation comes around you can remove one which is personally yours and still be within the law.

Remember 3/4 machines there are very expensive as they are brand new releases except RR (Jan06). Est at least £5,000 each, but as they are popular they should make their money back in no time at all.

Didn't you say you were considering getting an OXO club?

Vegas 500 is so lame it wouldn't make the first jump on the grand national... Get rainbow riches though they are cool - -- and elvis machines make the money as well as party slotto (which I think are rubbish), mega slot eats money too...

Agreed Vegas 500 is dreadful - no features like on Elvis etc, no excitement, VERY flat profile. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I've noticed Magners advertised on TV and more places seem to be getting it in now. Might try a few pints of it next time i'm out. None of the arcades i've been in have ever had bars but i don't see why not. As we all know from the machine down the pub, sometimes after a few bevvies you forget how much you've lost and end up spending more. Just have to make sure you don't end up with a load of beer heads in there, i mean apart from us lol causing a load of aggro.

Just a quick update here...

The planning application to change a shop in Brighton into an arcade was granted Thursday night (9/11/06). `however` the guy from the council said that dispite this, the council would indeed put up objections in regards to giving an arcade license.

The biggest hurdle was last year in getting the landlord to aggree for us to use his premesis as an arcade, as i see it, this is the last hurdle...

As discussed with Ady, I want this arcade to be as fair as possible, nobles which is some 1000yds away still has machines on 74% and pays out either £3 in token or a tin of spaghetti hoops for prizes. Its been aggreed we will have 86-88% minimum as a direct hit on nobles, and games such as bingo, cards, open the box will have prizes of £50 and upwards to a maximum of £500.

Thanx to all those who expressed their support, the goal is in sight now!
