Check this out..I was looking at the telewest/virgin media site and came across this..With me being on 10meg atm from May 1st its going up to 20meg..Even the upload speed is going to treble

I had this 10mb connection...and a letter telling me that this week....

Shame I cancelled my contract last week and my £35 has gone to Sky for the payment of Sports and Movie channels (only 10% of my time is on-line) with their Free 2mb service...Talk about becoming advanced lol.

Ahh well with 2mb it may increase to 50% pmsl!...at least I can watch a Movie while I wait for an upload!

Virgin Media is well indeed going to 20Mbit 1st May for an extra charge of £2 (but you will require a new modem at a charge of £25 -- what a rip off, they supply the service as long as you buy extra hardware)

Also August they are again upgrading to 50Mbit ..... !!!!!

i cant even get bloody cable!

Current ISP doing my nut, download speeds maxing out at around 50kb/s on newsgroups which is just shite!

Been looking to change provider but i cant find a decent one worth going to, all either capped too much or have rubbish FUP's. Looks like i might be waiting a few months till BE broadband appears here.

I have TV, PHONE & BROADBAND and with my monthly bill it states "On 1st May 2007 the price for Broadband Size: XL will go up from £35 to £37 per month"

yes but virign medias broadband line is subject to a crappy FUP too, not enough for my needs im afraid

You only have to pay £25 for the new modem if you need someone to come out and fit it for you. They will send you the modem for free in the post if you can fit it yourself....hmmm...sounds tricky to me!!! swap 2 cables over!!!

Good news for all of you on the "L" broadband package..just found out today that your in line for a free upgrade from 4mb to 10mb.

Cant be bad.

Cool! 10Mbps at home will do for me tbh. I have a LES100 circuit in the office, so if I want to download faster I can always use that...

I'm on 20mb from Virgin and i dont even get that.... not from that site anyway... perhaps i should give them a call and try to explain to them whats wrong while they persistantly ask me for my Wye pee address as they dont believe me when i say i work with computers blah blah is the problem....

I have the size L with virgin so when will i get the 10mb?

If you click on the link "Wheres my upgrade" James that will show you when your area is due to be done.

Most of them at the moment are TBC (To Be Confirmed)..but keep checking back every week or so.

still can't get cable in my area so have to stick with ADSL. My 8meg does me fine though and at least I dont get traffic shaped at anytime. Happily downloading at full pelt anytime night or day
