#324021 Shit Start to 2019

Posted by hold the bells on 14 February 2019 - 06:29 PM in Any Topic Chat

A guy I work with at our head office in the EU was off work a couple of Monday’s ago as his little girl had the standard 2-year-old fever that all kids get, I have a son the same age so we are always swapping tales of kids being imps and funny.

I know this as he had a text exchange with another workmate  about this and the fact, he might not make dinner we were all going to on Tuesday

Later that Monday he took her to A&E and she died, he is back at work now but I don’t know what happened and I’m unlikely to ask him any time soon.

So, I guess for me an all of you with kids the lesson around Shit thing number one, is that kids can’t be too much work ever. My family has gone to Dublin for 5 days, leaving me at home to do some jobs, less than 30 minutes after I was home after dropping them off at Heathrow the silence in the house was deafening, so god knows what his days are like.

It made me very sad for him, I had a text with him today as he needed me to do some work for him, I had to wait 5 minutes to reply as I wanted to get my shit together and be business-like and not bring up his daughter via over emotion, first time I’ve considered a text response this long in my life. So, we did the chat I was sort of pleased I hadn’t made a twat of myself and made his situation worse

Then a few hours later I get a call about another work mate, who I have known 16 years. He has a brain tumor, which I knew to be none cancerous, but had been a harder operation than first thought, Now turns out it was cancer and nothing more can be done, he is in the hospital and is not expected to see the month out,

So enjoy your kids and your friends as much as you can, so easy to get diverted from the great presence they are by the bullshit of day to day existence

Have in-laws over and dinner is under control and will  be maybe 2 hours

Was up at 5.50am with my son, made sure Santa "Dropped" a small Lego set in his room which kept him occupied until around 7

Spent a good 4 hours building Lego sets for my son and made a start on a huge Playmobile castle

Having a beer now and going to watch TV with my son

The bookies grew at a time when any employment increase was good news.

Their reason was to get as many shops as they could,  staffed by zero hour staff with 4 FOBT in each and make 50K or more per machine per year

I even have seen them in old bank buildings in Leeds.

Too many of them, stakes\Prizes are a joke and they do nothing to help addicts

#307151 Will fruit machines ever go back to the golden days?

Posted by hold the bells on 06 August 2017 - 05:40 PM in MFME emulation section

Yet sadly im seeing the drive towards a limited human workforce in supermarkets

I either use online shopping or if I go to the supermarket I use the self scan, surprised how little this is still used given how easy it is vs queuing on the normal tills.

Guess a lot of people still don't like it.

As for fruit machines, they will never go back, suspect some watered down "sanctions" on the bookies but doubt stakes or prizes will change much.

The UK is a mess for stake vs JP, even the casinos are messed up. Most Novamatics pay 1000 X stake as a JP, most of them in the UK are 2000 X stake so god knows what that does to the game.

Can you explain how much this places costs to run per month now? Also how\where is the site run from now? A online webhost or something else?

Web Hosting etc is not really my strong point, but looking at this below, you could maybe run this place for £10 a month (using the Blue Hosting Package)??

#216405 £2 Stake On Catb3

Posted by hold the bells on 27 July 2011 - 08:30 AM in Real Fruit Machines

Ladbrokes have moved 3 of their machines to £2 (optional) 2 of them are real money eaters, Thai Flowers and Crown Jewels.

Noticed William Hill has a Bar X clone machine that has wilds in the middle that can pay X2 to X10. You only get the X10 on £2 a spin.

Don’t know why the Jackpots are still £500, JP is £4000 for that stake in casinos and many B3 machine such as RR are available on this stake\prize.

£2 is not that harsh if you compare to casinos in Europe, a 50 cent 10 times pay will cost around £1.40 a spin with exchange rates. Loads of the video slots cost 10 Euro on max bet, I’ve seen them on 40 Euro a spin it high stake areas

I wonder if £2 will be the limit, I remember that under S16 Haunted House and that Chicken themed one could be played on £10 a spin without needing a win first.

#192859 MPU 5 - Royal Exchange Club £250 30p 1024/1280DX

Posted by hold the bells on 23 March 2010 - 08:51 AM in New Releases

Great machine and layout but it has a stupid block on the £60-£80 gamble.

Its very happy and will offer Red Features on "Red White or Blue" which have paid £180 the 3 times I collected them, but won't let you gamble past £60.

Also noticed that once you turn down a Red Royal Exchange it turns tight, it also drops in the 4 horseshoes for the bonus all the time.

When on the feature ladder each time you get 3 shields (4 pay a normal Royal Exchange) it kills you dead, even when its offered Red features!

#191293 What The Hell Have You Done To This Site?

Posted by hold the bells on 17 February 2010 - 02:38 PM in Any Topic Chat

Sorry guys, but gotta say I do not like this new look site. Fruit Emu has been a favorite of mine for several years now but think this may be my last visit. Why do people change things that work and work well? Now there's a big hunt to find anything and when you find it you have to trawl through more pages before you get to do what you actually want to do. Bring back the "New Releases" section and I might be tempted back but there are hundreds of other sites I could go to to find new emulators, this one just happened to be Number 1 out of all those other sites. Such a shame.

Well at the least the change made you stop lurking and sign up.

If you can't cope with a little bit of change maybe you should give up the web
