In Topic: Machine not connected to top box... What would you do?

29 June 2018 - 07:37 PM

in short (and this is in general) a unit/terminal will play as per usual until it triggers a top box feature. if it searches and cannot find the topbox/slave, then it will continue the wins via the reels OR it simply doesnt initialise at all.

Yeah thats normally the case, but on party times in certain circumstances it will cause the machine to think its still connected, hence no comms to master message but will not go up. This has been a known issue, and also as others have said they go off there tits when its put back right.

For obvious reasons im not going to explain the circumstances of how it happens, as it has been exploited on occasion by arcade staff / owners.

i know of loads machines with the persentages set higher then what it says on the glass ie 86 on the glass but its set at 90

Its allowed to be higher than stated, its only breaking the law if lower than stated.

Yes but I stated they should NOT play different, its been clear a long time that some do play completely enhanced, so anyone playing a demo should take the outcome with a pinch of salt.

I expect whats really going on is that some demos are in fact probably developer test versions that they were too lazy to downgrade to a legit  demo version.

No - I have no reason to believe that he is right on this and unless I saw a legal document saying they were, then I'd say no.  But that would likely only mean UK based hosting of them.

Consider this - a lot of these freeplays are not even hosted in the UK, so it's not as if UK law is going to apply to them as the internet is boundryless.  The UK is not the gambling epicentre of the universe where everything else must comply - which again points to no.

From experience - Having been through a shit load of games for the casino page I have made, it would seem impossible that my luck is completely with me on hthese casino ones in freeplay and yet if I put cash in them, they'd lock up.

Infact, I'd probaly be able to make 5K a day on these free ones if converted to real money - that's not going to happen online and I believe the wins to come in much more - espeically the features when no case is involved.

Ok let me rephrase what I meant when I said its against the law,

It's against UKGC and MGA guidelines that an online slot demo plays differently or enhanced to real play, and that if you find one that does that, that is under those jurisdictions then you can complain to them and it will be investigated and removed if its found to be in breach of the rules, the operator and provider also risk a fine if not removed and continue to use a demo with enhanced play.

So I stand by my comment that they should not play different its against the current guidelines, and you should report any you find.

I would have thought demo mode would have been a lot looser, as reel based machines are in door open mode. They must do this to encourage real play, making the unfortunate punter think "Wow these are easy to win on", when in reality the punter get drawn in to shovelling cash into them, eventually having the shirt sucked off of their backs.

Its actually against the law for demos to play different or enhanced on demo play. They have to play the same as if it was real money, for that very reason.
