All I can suggest is to first disconnect all usb devices, restart and see if JPeMu then works.
If not, uninstall Avast,Winpatrol and Gadwin software. Better replaced with AVG and Firefox anyway. Restart and see what happens then.

Also end all processes except these below then run JPeMu

When you say disconnect all USB devices what about my cable modem ? I wont have any internet connection then.
Tried Firefox recently and now that you mention it I started having a lot of silly problems after uninstalling it. I am willing to try almost anything to resolve this but I will have to try all this later. I cant think straight from lack of sleep and dont want to risk doing something stupid out of tiredness.
Thanks for your advice and I will post any results from this later on today.

Failing that pop your XP disk in and choose install [ "UPGRADE" ].
This will overwrite your system files ONLY, back to their originals - and leave all your programs, settings etc intact

Modem should be OK

I did everything suggested above except the re instal windows. Still same problems. The jpemu wont run at all. But now when I right click a file on my desktop or anywhere else too I no longer get an error message , my desktop goes black my taskbar icons disappear for a few seconds then reappear with desktop.
Ive done that much troubleshooting I can barely remember what happened where and when but at sometime in the proceedings trying to run the jpemu I remember seeing something that said " initialisation.ini cannot be opened" or words very similar. If thats relevant.
I tried deleting a file by using my folder tasks instead of right clicking but that crashed too.
If there isnt anything else to try I will wait till i can get a windows xp disc and do an upgrade then.
Thanks for the suggestion about changing my antivirus software I feel like web pages etc are opening much easier and not hanging and had niggling doubts about what was causing it.
It all seems so much to take in sometimes . .
Thanks again guys.

It may be the most destructive option but the reinstall of windows is sometimes the quickest way of solving these problems.

So do the upgrade/reinstall option which will keep *MOST* of your files but be aware that you may lose everything so make sure everything you need is backed up onto cd or another hard drive.

I reinstall windows (a clean install - wipe the hard drive) every 6 months or so just to keep it in tip top condition.

I would seriously suggest trying system restore FIRST to the earliest possible date - if it does not work you can undo this backward restore.

Also, if you have the XP disk with Service Pack 1, Do not install Service Pack 2, just install the emulator and see if it runs. Oh, install all the drivers you need first - especiallly the graphics drivers and also Direct X.

Service Pack 2 has many issues with some emulators so you may want to leave it out for now.

Its more now an issue of fixing whats causing the right clicking problem and Im thinking first of all if I get that fixed maybe the jpemu emulator I can do without. I dont think I want to risk making things any worse just to install it.
If I can get this problem fixed and finish saving everything I want to keep onto my other hard drive then I may retry and reinstal windows but I havent got the original xp disc and not sure what I can get my hands on , on monday.
I am waiting on a response from the techguy forum , Ive just posted all the info they asked for so we will see how that goes.
It all seems such a hassle to reinstal and from what Ive read elsewhere it doesnt always fix the problem. Until the past week or two everything was running great. But if its what I have to do then I will but not until I really have to. I hate the fact that I am so ignorant about so much when it comes to computers and also that my memory is so bad I forget what I do learn.
I really appreciate all the help and advice. Will let you know if I get anywhere thanks

Well I just thought Id let you know that Ive fixed the right click problem but havent got anywhere with the jpemu problem but I am for the moment giving up because I ended up having to buy the windows XP upgrade disc as my pc wouldnt boot in any mode at all. £170 ouch, but hell mend me for lending my original to a friend Im no longer in touch with.
Thanks everyone who tried to help but unless anyone knows of some miracle for fixing this ntdll problem Il have to stick with the bfm and mfme for now. I managed to repair without losing anything so now I am busy copying everything I want to save on to another drive just incase.
Thanks
LV.

How much memory have you got?

The icons disapearing and coming back again sounds like what happend with my laptop. Not enough memory so it is doing to much. JPeMu also eats memory to. Try clearing all your temp files too and just try and clean it up so it would run as fast as possible.

I am not actually getting any error. I double click the jpemu and it does nothing. But I just happened to check my taskmanager and noticed that dr watson was running and disappeared after a couple of settings so I went into my folders found the log and it mentions the ntdll.dll in that log. I am having problems with psp closing down on me and its the same module causing that error too. When I use gradients, Could it be graphics card related ? Il try and attach the dr watson log for you cause they are kinda long to copy/paste. I had to cut a bit off the end it was .3kb to long. It was the raw stack dump I cut.? Hope you didnt need to see that bit.
Thanks

One thing you could try is using windows file checker (sfc from a dos prompt) and point the files to I386. see what happens.

whoah whoah hang on hang on !!!!

If you mean the right click over the reel thing then there is no fix.

Tony (Dialtone) added a reel dragger into jpemu where you can hold left click on a reel and drag it to see what's where.

However, if you right click over a reel or right click at the same time the emu crashes.

Known bug, never fixed and not about to be.

DONT reinstall windows it wont make ANY difference, this is an emu bug that was never addressed, the simplest fix is dont right click rofl.

He/she does not mean that, when they try and open JPeMu it does not even start (if i have read this topic correctly), it shows the egg timer thing to show that the pc is working on something but JPeMu never opens.

Lol thanks and that would be she. Yes thats exactly what happens only for a few seconds though, then nothing and along with dr watson the jpemu.exe shows for a second or two in my running processes.
I did the sfc eventually but i havent checked yet to see if its made any difference, it did copy all protected system files from the xp disc. But doesnt give a log or report it just stops when done so i will need to check.
Thanks

Had a thought at work today. Have you tried decreasing the graphics acceleration in system properties. If it is a graphics card problem that might help.
