I downloaded the wizard and can use the MFME and the BFM but when I click on the JPeMu nothing happens at all no error message it just looks as though its thinking of opening then nothing, I checked my task manager and everytime I try to open the emulator it shows in the process list but not in the apps and DrWatson is also there and then they both dissappear after a few seconds. Im running XP pro , passed all the requirements when installing. Uninstalled downloaded again re installed but still wont open at all.
I am new to this and did have a long hunt around and dont see anyone with same problem. Any ideas.?

have you got any jpm games on your computer and unzipped them cos unlike mfme and bfm, jpmu scans your computer then lists all the games that you have.then you eithr double click on the game or you can single click on the game then press the power plug icon then the game will load.
Welome to fruit-emu by the way

I have one or two (hundreds) yes. All unzipped. So these games arent accessed thru the emulator but thru the games themselves? That I didnt know. And Power plug? Excuse my ignorance but other than how to lose a fortune without really trying I dont know a thing about fruit machines and emulators infact until I joined here the only emulator I knew was Mamed for my old Dreamcast.
Thanks for the info I will have another go at it. And thanks for the welcome too.

DOH! sorry ive just read again what you wrote and it has computed this time properly. I think. Okay what is happening is , well nothing, its not coming on at all and not scanning, the little hour glass cursor shows for a few seconds then goes back to pointer and if i then check my taskmanager its in the processes for a couple of seconds and so is dr watson and thats not usually in my processes then they both disappear and nothing at all. So nowhere to click left or right.

all jpemu layouts need to be accessed through Jpemu 2.50 unless specifically written for the impact side of mfmev2, and impact layouts written for mfmev2 wont work on jpemu 2.50

Possible yes. Ive been questioning some other minor problems that may be connected to my AV.
I know that this is connected to a dll file . ntdll.dll. I am having problems with it elsewhere and I found the Dr Watson log regarding jpemu and the first thing I spotted was the same dll file. So they are connected But not a clue how to fix. The more I try to troubleshoot this the more problems I am running into and microsoft help and support is about as useful as a chocolate teapot.
I think if I resolve the dll problem the jpemu will work so if anyone has any advice on that Id appreciate it.

Have you tried disabling your AV software and then trying 2.5? Try checking your AV logs to see if it finds JPeMu a problem. Other than that I'm stumped

Yeh tried that too. The problem has got worse in that I can no longer right click anything on my desktop at all without first of all crashing windows explorer then it goes on to crash the dr watson postmortem debugger and i have to ctrl alt del to get the taskmanger up and stop the dr wtsn before i can get back to desktop. To be honest its becoming a major headache and Ive googled this till I just cant read anymore. I think this is no longer a jpemu problem but a dll nightmare. I havent a clue where else to turn or what to do next.
Thanks anyway

I did check all my antivirus logs and couldnt find any reference to jpemu.
Switched off my av ran a trendmicro online scan came up clean. Ran a quick rootkit revealer which also came up clean. Spybot, Bazooka and hijackthis all come up with nothing so i think I can rule out viruses/spyware etc.
I have no idea what to do next apart from try the techguy see if I can get some advice.

Have you updated your computer or installed anything else recently? I think some programs like replacing dll's with their own. Perhaps a re-installation of windows is in order? Or do a system restore to before it all started. Good luck in any case

Got the microsoft updates on the 16th added a new external hard drive (usb). Installed , uninstalled several different programs but according to all the info I can find XP doesnt allow protected dll files to be over written and the ntdll files in the systems folder are latest versions, although there are a couple of different versions elsewhere on pc.
I always run a reg cleaning program after I uninstall something to clean up whats left behind. I am starting to think I am maybe cleaning too much .
This right click problem just started this morning that has me well and truly baffled.
I think I need sleep I cant even think straight to word a question for the techguy forums there is so many different little things going on it would look like a short story.
Well I suppose at least most things are still running so I can still play couronne and surf, for now anyway.
thanks
