File Name: Party Time Arena

File Submitter:

File Submitted: 13 Nov 2016

File Category: System 1

Finally the one question that has haunted FME forever has been answered, can Party Time be emulated ?

The answer is yes.

MFME now allows you to run multiple machines at once and this is how Party Time Arena is presented.

This release is not about me, this is about Wizard.  I make things look pretty but he is the real magic that goes into this and everything else we are enjoying in the twilight weeks of 2016. He is the man to thank for this and the work that goes behind this.

My job is to make things look nice and try to avoid the "layout police" he has the hardest job out of all of us by pulling together a lot of behind the scenes magic to make this happen.  Thank you Wizard.

To run this MFME needs a little tweaking as these machines uses an IP address.  This is your local IP of your machine.  Put this IP in Preferences under IP Addr.  It will probably be a 192.168.0.x type address.

This release has four machines as it is actually four individual machines running, the top box and three clients.

Load them in this order:

- partytime_topbox_astrasysa1.gam
- partytime_red_astrasysa1.gam
- partytime_blue_astrasysa1.gam
- partytime_yellow_astrasysa1.gam

You should be up and running when they've all been loaded.  All machines have had their rams wiped and each has had £75 pumped through it.

Enjoy and party like it's party time !

Again, many thanks to Wizard for everything that went behind the scenes to make this work - I simply made it look pretty.

NOTE: The "PartyTime_topbox_1.zip" file is a replacement .fml for the topbox if you are having performance issues.

Outstanding release.  Much appreciated :)

All credit to Wizard, this one had something special behind the scenes to make it happen.

This is a defining moment tho for Fruit Machine Emulation that this machine is now playable.

If your going to DX it, the lamps I've used on the Top Box were to make it functional for each base machine - I am not certain they are right so just bear that in mind if your planning on doing your magic with it. :)

For anyone struggling to find their IP address:

Press the Windows key + R

In the Run box type CMD

In the black window type:

ipconfig |more

Your IP address should be displayed - press a key to move to the next page of output if it is not. (Note the | in |more is shift and the key next to Z)...

Awesome :)

For anyone struggling to make it work with the 'No Comms' messages on the 1-3 machines (Windows 7 on mine)

You may need to allow this item through your Windows Firewall - Just let it have access.

(Edit - Just realized someone else provided this information at the MPU Mecca as well)

Did you close all open copies of MFME and then re-open them after putting in your IP address?

This change seems to only be applied when MFME starts up...

Many thanks for this release and the hard work involved behind the scenes

Bit of a silly question but by multiple layouts running at once do u mean have 4 separate tabs or 4 layouts under the one tab as I'm currently having the no comms error also and can't fathom if I'm getting close or not lol

Any help much appreciated

thanks for your time

You need to:

1) Open MFME and put in your IP address (see above) in preferences. Then close MFME

2) Open MFME and click (if prompted) to allow MFME through your firewall

3) Open the Top Box layout

4) Open MFME again and open the Red layout

5) Open MFME again and open the Blue layout

6) Open MFME again and open the Yellow layout

When this is all done you should have 4 copies of MFME open each with a different colour layout or the Top Box.

:) I've not done a layout for years and years.

Having said that - I do quite fancy having a go again with the new tools.

I will ask around to see what resources I can find...
