Hi fruit machine addict. I was also in GT Yarmouth on the 11th of July. I agree with you. Also, there is these poxy crap ticket machines and kids of all ages trying to sell tickets to you in the arcades! In the Seashore holiday park, there is an arcade along with a burger king, Papa Johns and a live lounge clubhouse area. The 2p pushers also included tickets, "This surfer is a winner!" and there was a sit down deal or no deal which was ticket based, although I found it fun. Also found a working duff beer guide and homers meltdown  and Italian jobs 2 and 3lol. Yep there is a lot of party times but would not pay out apart from 1 which gave me the top box jackpot and another £2.40!

Forum Rules
Having not been updated since 2003 we (the staff) have put together some new rules for the site/forum.

1..We encourage debating and discussion, however we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts.

2..Before creating a new thread, please be sure to use our “search feature†to ensure that this subject has not been brought up already. In a lot of cases your question may have already been asked and answered to death.

3..Advertising, spamming and trolling is not allowed. This includes using the forum email and Private message system to spam other members.

4..There are no set rules against the use of swearing in the forums, but users should only really apply it where appropriate. Inserting swear words in every post doesn't make a user look "tough" or "clever". In fact to most people, it comes across as a literacy deficiency. Posters who frequently use excessive levels of profanity may be cautioned to tone it down. In no way, will the usage of racial, religious, ethnical or sexual discrimination be allowed on our forums. This may lead to definite banning.

5..The posting of adult links, banners, or any other material that promotes pornographic material is prohibited.

6..Respect our staff , Any abuse towards our Admins or moderators may result in a banned account immediately.

7..Moderators/Admins reserve the right to close or delete threads or posts that aren't relevant to the topic being discussed.

8..Shouts may be edited or removed by a Moderator at their discretion (or taken into consideration from a complaint from another member) and the poster sent a PM or email why, they will also be warned that they could receive a ban from posting future 'shouts' should it continue.

NB. These rules are not designed to dictate what members post as it is nice to see some good varied posts but are only made to keep the site a safe, happy and friendly place as it always has been and always will be.

Any questions feel free to PM myself or another member of staff..although i think everything is quite self-explanatory.

Hi mate, I visited that seashore for a Burger King haha, only played the £5 Lucky Strike, couldn't be assed with anything else, another shame, big place, very modern looking inside, best thing was the whopper burger but rip off expensive as hell, tasty n yummy tho, yeah cmon arcade owners in Yarmouth, get yourself some AWPs in, The "Mint" has a doctors n nurses extreme and a king ker Ching, now that's "MINT" but nothing else HAHA and golden nugget spectacular looking flaming arcade, absoloutely f*** all, nothing! I remember 2009 when Gold Rush was full of horizon cabs, they had everything! Atlantis too had everything that was my favourite the Atlantis, everything has gone now tho:( All we can do is hope for the years to come that they will stack the arcades with AWPs instead of replacing them with these lo tech units :(

Sorry, taken into account, no more swearing from me, just people like that bloke trying to be smart with his classics, but I am sorry, no more swearing

Arcades are full of lo-techs these days because they are simple to play.  Hi-techs don't get played these days because people don't understand them.  I was in the arcades in Yarmouth at 2pm and nearly every 4-reeler DOND had reset reels on them, and if that's during the summer holidays it shows how bad things are.  Ticket games take very good money as there's plenty of mark-up potential and the kids love them.  Therefore that is what most arcade owners will spend their budget for the year on.

They'll dip into the second-hand market each year before Easter, and maybe buy a few new bits as well if there's anything taking really good money, but it will mostly be redemption and £500 jackpot machines.  Everything else - they'll just keep it going until it stops working, and then it will go in a skip.  Red Gaming and Extreme stuff will die out eventually for three reasons -

1)  Red and Extreme don't make machines any more, and parts are expensive and difficult to source

2)  People don't play them because they're shit games, so they don't take any money

3)  Therefore they're not worth spending money on to upkeep them.  They'll spend money on Party Times and Bullion Bars, because they take decent money.  They're not going to spend £50 on a new power supply or MPU board to keep a machine going that takes £25 a week during peak season.  They'll just scrap it for parts.

I just pray that does not happen, I will slap ASTRA round their face, the amusements certainly do look far better lit up on the outside and when you go in, couple of party games and that's it, come on seriously. Do we not have any or do I not have any God at all in bringing back the AWPs? Surely?

If you call donds great then you need to wake up same for the £100 jps they're pieces of junk well all machines are.

Next if you don't like classic machines the predecessors to your reds and extreme shit then what are you doing on a emulation site mainly catering for retro machine's

Finally what is you point of joining this site is it to cause trouble and stuff , Mr c is a respected member of this establishment , offending people with your offensive language isn't going to get you anywhere on here , well it is a imminent ban so please take a step back a think before you type. So what you hate party times don't play em simples I hate dond machine's so I leave em like a rabid dog well alone.
The more I do today, The less I do tomorrow.
Fme is alive and screaming into the 21st century!
Enjoy FME and Happy Gaming!!!!

Hi-tech AWPs do not take money these days, it's an inescapable fact.  Look at the shit you get in arcades now - round-pound DONDs switched down to 10p/£5 from £70 jackpot which take £8 for a board that gives GO ALL THE WAY for a £5 flat Mega Streak.  Red Gaming shit (once you've played one you've played them all by the way) that cost at least 3 or 4 quid for a £1 win, exchange 4 gambles away, which loses on a 10 because it doesn't want to go to £1.20.  Once it's had £25 lost in it you can climb it out for a £15-£20 top and make a tenner on it, and then it's burnt again - 7 or 8 quid for a nudge trail with nothing there that loses straight away anyway.  Regular casual players don't want to play games that are always in that state.  The gameplay is seriously limited or even non-existant.  Instead they play lo-techs like Party Time because they have pretty much the same chance as anyone else, even if they don't know the nudge set-ups.  Or they'll go into the over-18's area and play random stuff like Reel King and Rainbow Riches, or maybe something like a Bar-X 7 or Magic 7 which are easy to play and require no skill or knowledge.  They know that their chances are slim on hi-techs and they are too complicated.  They know that if they put a couple of quid in a £5 Pink Panther they'll get a board with nothing on the columns, lose after 3 or 4 gambles and then some tracksuited #@#@#@# will be straight over to skill it out off 'In the Pink' to make 50p on it.  They have absolutely no chance on these sort of games, therefore a great portion of the arcade's player-base will not play them.  This is why lo-tech games are more popular and hence make the most money for the arcade - everyone has a chance.  The only exception to this rule is with a Golden Game or Monopoly - they look like lo-techs but unless you know how to play them properly you don't stand a chance unless you've got a Monopoly on one of those bent chips that stick most of the money onto the flash pot and don't hold after nudge properly, or a Golden Game that pays £2 for X's.

I posted the forum rules as a reminder to all to play nicely, and for language to be moderated (which for the most part it has been).
