OK I think some people need to take a step back and chill in here.

The basis of this thread is something that should definitely be taken into consideration and a suitable solution put in place one way or another, so all members are clear on what the score is on the forum when it comes to certain language.

The way this thread is going is right now is not helping the situation at all. We don't need arguments / insults / accusations / people quitting or resigning. It will simply turn into a split and abyss thread before you know it.

i see this thread is going nowhere but in the usual argumentitive direction as with quite a few recent threads.

First thing i would do if i was mod here, i would give that "ricardo de ponsa" a little surprise warning for his recent venting of the "T" word, as ive mentioned im admin on another site, people like that would not last five minutes longer if he came speaking like that on our forums.

Comments like his only provoke fights.

looks like another topic,s getting out of hand again, swearing or no swearing who gives a F' all todds trying to block at the start of this topic is that 4lettered 'C' word so its only one word of many and that word is Really offensive one of the worst swear words. at the end of the day i think this decision should be handed over to duplu the main dude of this site for him to decide and as for Todd resigning i say no stay you,re one of the old skool and a great mod.

Todd, this is only my opinion but I think if you pack the Mod hat away over this then you're being a bit dramatic.

I stand by every word that I said, but I DIDN'T mean any of it in a nasty way, you can ask Daryl what I'm like IRL, and most probably the answer would be something like ... a decent bloke, a good laugh and listener and doesn't mind fetching the coffee (eh Daryl) This topic/thread is something that we will never agree on, I think i am right and I will always defend absoultely anything homophobic, which is said in a derogatory way, and therefore will not be moved on what happened in the other thread, but at the same time, am more than willing to have a laugh about it and more often than not poke fun at myself, something else Daryl knows all to well.

You also think you are right in what you said and the actions you took, so like I said we will never agree.

But to pack it in because of this is just plain daft, IMO. I haven't slagged you off in public or in private so unless there's something else which my comments have compounded, you'd be better of staying as a Mod.

Loads of people like you, me included, we just have different views on this and probably loads more stuff.

You ought to sleep on it at least, and then make a decision, but whatever you DO decide, I wish you well and bear no malice towards you.

We are all letting our passions take the better of us one way or another. Rest assured, I will ask for a policy to profanity to be made clear. Insults to other members isn’t needed, as this thread was made originally to be clear about!

I don’t want to use the padlock, and neither do other Mods - but insults won’t be tolerated to one another, and neither will posts where members think they can use this thread to justify their points either. Some members are all getting too involved personally.

And yes, we are passionate in what we believe. I have mentioned this here on the forums, the Shoutbox and in real life to each other too. We will never see eye to eye with each other in EVERYTHING… but then if we did, why would we need a forum? We would all know what each other thought!

I think since I have been a Moderator here passions have been aroused… I wish I could do that in real life - I’d have a real good time! lol

Thanks for that, but really there's no need, I only said the truth as I see it.

I might be an old queen, but that doesn't have to make me a vile old queen , just because things might get heated from time to time, doesn't mean things always have to turn to hatred and nastiness.

My honest opinion is that I think Todd should stay, but the final decision is down to him.

I value the position of trust placed on me on here , do i take that too seriously ? yeah possibly a little .. but its a site i care about and sometimes i get a little overzealous about things.

Could i handle certain situations differently ? yeah probably , but when i make a decision to intervene on something and it was possibly handled incorrectly ,if my actions are criticised it calls into question my own abilities on what im doing.

Thats when its time to hand over the reins to someone else.

Mate I could easily have PM'ed this or stuck it in the Mod forum but I want to ask you openly to reconsider.

In the past I too have let posts etc affect me and I now let all the crap just go over my head. It's true that real-life is far more important and there are proper issues......like you and a few others we come here for fun and to 'get away' from all that!

I have read time and time again "certain members get picked on"....this is NOT the idea of the site..we are ALL here to enjoy it..could it be though that these certain individuals post stuff that actually annoys a vast percentage of members and where that happens it's twisted and we get the "Sir he's picking on me" schoolboy senario??.........whereas if that person had posted appropriately their opinions would have just mixed-in with other post's and made an enjoyable thread.

There are certain people that just don't know how to 'join-in', and i'd imagine that the only highlight in their lives is to be a Mr Someone by being a complete idiot and seeking attention.....sad really!

Todd i'm glad you didn't bother PM'ing me as you know I won't action it!
