You have to put something in the username and password field, and then click offline.

Just leaving username and password blank and ticking offline doesn't work for me, nothing happens when you click launch.

Had me stumped for a while that one lol !

try changing graphic option acceleration to the REF option rather than HAL

theabbey, it might also be worth making sure you have latest DirectX installed (from microsoft website)

also ensure anti aliasing is turned off in graphics options, i get issues with the higher AA sample's, with the same error message (can go upto 8xAA though )

Imagine running PA and then choose LAYOUTS instead of CREATE - you've then got to exit and load it up again and go through the lenghty start-up. Would have been good to be able to just go back to the main menu.

You can choose the Layouts Wizard tool from the "Layout" tab, on the top bar, if you're in the layout selection area. Layout/Layouts Wizard. Or use the shortcut: CTRL+W.

I assume on later builds you'll be able to click through the 'thanks' part instead of waiting?

Yes, mate. Once you've gone through the license agreement/thanks bit, you can skip it the next time you use the emulator.

I would suggest the following:

Find out your graphics card make/model and download the latest WinXP drivers for it.

Install latest DirectX for XP from www.microsoft.com/directx

Make sure everything in the Graphics Options is turned off, then try again. If you put a resolution that your monitor doesn't support it wont work.

Thanks for all the help guys but i dont have a clue how to do the above.
I have allways had problems with my screen res and its too big i have to scroll on some websites lol
Got so used to it now tho.
Oh and i know how to change sreen res but it goes to small etc...

There are loads of shortcuts for this, mate. Once you've loaded a layout ( should be one coming soon hopefully ), you can press F1 and it will display all the emulator shortcuts and what they do.

i have installed amber and when i try and launch it after i have given a user name and password it comes up with (cant initialize digital sound system)(error code 14) has anyone any idieas

I had the same issue all you have to do is put user mane and password tick offline and it should be fine. Or at least thats how I got it to work

You can do that anytime except the first time it is launched.

The updated installer installs an updated emulator which is REQUIRED for bues boys to play correctly. If you have alraeady installed, please install that one over the old one.
