I have a problem with a Global fruit machine, i've had it for 2 years or so, with no issues at all, however i was having a look through the settings today and it went in to an alarm like mode.

There is no display, but the speaker on the back is clicking loudly, nothing else on the machine works at all.

When i open it up, i can see the "reset alarm" LED flashing (in time with the clicking), but nothing i do seems to have any effect. Turning off for extended period, but it's still going when i turn on again. I've tried leaving it on for 10+ minutes, also no effect.

The machine is "Who wants to be a Millionhare".

Would appreciate any advise anyone can offer.

Thanks.

make sure the gamecard is properly inserted failing that then its either the mainboard or psu at fault

thanks for the swift response, PSU is certainly working fine (all lights on at the front of it) and lights on the internal boards all fine (unless they are just on a feedthrough, rather than being powered by the PSU).

Have checked seating of all cards and they seem fine.

I bought the Fruit Machine from a guy on EBAY who does not respond.
If the Hoppers are disconnected as ebay rules insist on, can anyone please tell me how to reconnect them please?

Hi there, hoping someone here can help! I just bought two machines on ebay. One a Barcrest Neptunes Treasure which is fine. The other is a Maygay Spectre, which appears to have an epoch board.

The board lights indicate that it is running fine, but none of the operating LED's on the other boards light up, and only the top panel of the machine lights up. I have tried reseating the roms, and tried connections etc, but nothing.

As the alpha display is on the bottom panel, I get no messages or alarms. The two seven segment LED's both show 8 and 8.8, which is not in the service manual, and the hopper motor just seems to run. I checked the PSU, and that says it is chucking out the right voltage, so now I'm stuck... Anybody got any bright ideas what I should try next?

Thanks in advance

that could either be a power supply fault or an epoch mpu fault.

hopper driver pcb and by the sounds of it I/O pcb(lamp driver) thats one that is there at the top of the machine this controls all lamp`s and alpha output`s

like all maygay don`t just replace one scrap the lot and replace all.there a pain in the ass and that go`s for the eclipes aswell
.._-=It`s not a problem only a challenge =-_..

thats why epoch tech is crap.
you could have a number of faults that are all similar but its a different component thats faulty.

i remember having the clicking noise as reported and its been 3 different components at fault.
