Whereabouts is this mate?

Possibly Gloucester, as I'm in Bristol and I looked out at 5am and it was clear, no frost :) then 20 minutes later a layer of snow.

Aye Zoltar, I can remember when I was a kid living in Aberdeen snow being piled up at the side of the road about 6 feet tall when the snow ploughs had done their job. Also making my way to school with the snow being deeper than the tops of my wellies. I can also remember opening our front door and seeing a solid wall of snow and then having to dig our way out.

You just don't see that type of weather any more thankfully. I bloody hate snow!!

It really is true too, though it sound so odd in such a short time.

When I was around 10'ish I remember clearly making igloo's in the middle of the main road where it built-up off of a grass bank.

Two foot or so was fairly common....just 30 years ago.

This morning we had a massive 3mm and the world came to a stop!

I think it was the winter of 78 ady. I remember there being snow drifts and people stuck in there house due to snow at there doors. I had photos took when I was a wee nipper and the snow was amazing.

looked at the weather and we have a warning for very low temps. Not all the snow has gone so if the roads freez over this will make it very bad indeed. Hoping for more snow.

Had a good chunk of it here in town, but I have yet to go over to me flat and see how bad it is there.

Had a smattering over night, but coming down harder now. Hope it stops soon as I have an interview to get to in 3 hours and no work = no money :bigeyes24:. I nearly broad-sided the car earlier today as it is.

Been out this afternoon enjoying the snow. Came back to find some thieving bastard kids have nicked my plastic recycle bag to use it as a sledge. The cheeky gets emptied the contents all over the street as well. Oh well, someone will pick it up. ;-)
