Well Alex was the guy running the site its his decision, if its over i hope he hands it on (to a senseible user).

Basically there have been times hes been shit on in the past so im suprised he has not done this before.

Geeze, wondered why we had so many users last night!

Although I don't log into FF too often i'm a regular guest and like to read some of the funny/bazarre posts regularly.

Hopefully whatever is going on is resolved soon...Given the homepage still exists is a good sign anyway.

I think ff would have closed before now if it wasn't for a few things that made it unique amongst fme sites.

Firstly,it was one of the original fme forums, and almost all the old guard have been members at one time or another.
Secondly, it had one of the most bizarre and unmoderated off-topic areas of any forum going - apart from the frequently inane (and often insane[!]) rants, it had an... err...'interesting' atmosphere.

Last but far from least, ff had acquired a certain notoriety as the first place to find out about [ahem] naughty layouts and [coughh] 'interesting' software.

Sadly, the unmoderated nature of ff allowed certain mad/malicious idiot[s] to ruin it, and the place was really beginning to fall apart over the last few months.

I doubt Alex has much heart in keeping it going, but it would be nice if it were to re-emerge another day, perhaps with a bit more moderation,with its slightly 'outlaw' spirit still in place.

Last time there were serious calls for banning (Markie I think it was) he shut the place down. I agree with G-man in that a bit more moderation would be better - but does Choppers have the time for that?

Whatever reason we hope (and apparently it will be as soon as) FF resumes.

It's simple!

AM posts he has to change his nick for whatever reason - leave it at that etc etc personal issues etc etc.

Skizzo mentions 'Chopley' in a thread I reply saying you mean 'Horatio' Skizzo moderately takes the piss for the nick change so AM shuts the doors.

That is your reasons.... understandably the nick change was for serious unknown reasons but to shut FF I think is way over the top. If AM was having internet/real life issues regarding his identity then surely him leaving would have been the best bet for all concerned not shutting FF in AFAIK a rather selfish up yours to the scene which spoils it for everyone, although admittedly we are used to that sort of thing by now .

Well we will wait and see.
