For the sake of a £10 is it worth taking it you would feel much better handing it in than £10 will ever make you feel.

#307046 Worth Going For?

Posted by fruitman69 on 03 August 2017 - 07:15 PM in Any Topic Chat

I'm no expert but alarm bells starting to ring already, I would be giving it a miss.

There was a program on TV a while back about getting tennents in doing it up and it failing and they just get the next in, often after they spend cash getting up to scratch.

and 45% wet sales is ok if your getting  plenty of wet sales which most these days are not.

remember 45% of not a lot  is  less than half of not a lot   lol

Totally agree with the above, if your not able to really focus on good pub food or even a Sunday carvery type place its gonna be very tough, and long hours to make little or no profit. Look into the books and everything before you even consider it.

#239401 WIP Fruit Link 1280DX

Posted by fruitman69 on 01 September 2012 - 12:45 PM in Forthcoming Releases

Thank-you gent's....

Spent a good few hours on that yesterday, and several of the 'lamp flash' bits are removed and also the buttons are on, right now i'm trying to redo the JP Symbol.....really enjoying doing this Emu.

One really weird thing though, whilst playing with some lamps I thought i'd see what an alpha would do (as I remember it this dosn't have One)...yet on booting the machine it say's FLC (Fuit Link Club) and on playing gives the Hi Lo etc?

All barcrest fruits that dont have a alpha still send data to the port, from a programming POV theres no need to remove the code.

As an engineer, It was particularly handy on the old rios etc when it threw up an uncommon alarm code as you didnt need a manual, just plug an alpha in and it would tell you :)

#167026 Windows 7 - Verdict ??

Posted by fruitman69 on 29 May 2009 - 02:36 PM in Any Topic Chat

Had trouble loading it to begin with as my dvd drive was attached to a 3rd party ide riser card. Put it on the main IDE bus and all went well.

The install after that was pretty painless. However there are a few moments where something could be added to indicate it is loading. Just staring at the same screen for 5 mins does make you wonder if it has crashed, but eventually it got there.

Overall performance wise it sems nice and sharp, so far no driver issues to speak of. Trackmania United installed and ran without a hitch.

MFME works but FMEF doesn't.

I have a feeling its looking for a runtime file or something so will investigate more later.

I kinda like it, which isnt what I was expecting to say tbh.

Dont know if your using VB6 mate but thats non compatable with VISTA and W7.

They no longer support it. ( that i know of )

#156729 Where is the Quid?

Posted by fruitman69 on 09 March 2009 - 06:51 PM in Any Topic Chat

This is a very old puzzle with loads of variants ;)

Three men decided to split the cost of a hotel room. The hotel manager gave them a price of £30.
The men split the bill evenly, each paying £10, and went to their room. However, the hotel manager realized that it was a Wednesday night, which meant the hotel had a special: rooms were only £25. He had overcharged them £5!
He called the bellboy, gave him five one-pound coins and told him to return it to the men.
When the bellboy explained the situation to the men, they were so pleased at the honesty of the establishment that they promptly tipped the bellboy £2 of the £5 he had returned and each kept £1 for himself.
So each of the three men ended up paying £9 (their original £10, minus £1 back) totaling £27, plus £2 for the bellboy makes £29.

Where did the extra pound go?
