NETGEAR is your friend ! 108 Mbps is well nippy easy to set up and lock wifi wise and generally very reliable.

Just thought id hijack this thread rather than create a new one.
Having some probs updating the firmware for my new router that i got the other day.
Its a Netgear WRG614v9 and everytime i go to update it comes up "Firmware upgrade failed. Please check your file."
Thing is when its dowloaded to my desktop its a ww.chk (recovered file fragments) file ? Im sure the last time i updated my firmware for my old Netgear router it was a .bin file ? Looked like a small silver disc ?
Any ideas would be appreciated guys.

Sorry eminemster i have to dissagree i have a netgear router and it runs 24/7 as the repro is on 24/7 ish i have been running this router like that for over 6 months now and other than the 2 power outages in our area when the local villans decide that thay want to nick some copper wire out of the local substation , its ran with no issues at all. Before that i had an unbranded one i got off e-bay for 14 quid and that ran for 2 years and it was the wireless side that was acting up on that.

I'm with cliffc on this.... Had way too many issues with cheep Belkin crap and their rebranded Micra Digital (Used to get these in Tesco's) junk to trust them ever again
GF's mum being the worst to suffer at the hands of Belkin, to which I managed to fix with a spare 3com unit I had.
As for myself, after my old 3com unit failed, I went with a Netgear WGT624 v3, and this has even out peformed my old 3com jobby.
Deffo would go with Netgear again, or BT Voyager as a close second.

I use a Belkin and never had a moments problem with it. Piss easy to set up too Mind you its the only one wireless router I've ever had so I can't comment on any others.
