That is a very good point JJoengineer about the fact that the high techs were not making enough so that is why they get replaced, why on earth I never thought of that myself I do not know, good point.

I can’t count how much I must be down throughout my teen years with machines believe me, so it is stupid that I “miss them” honestly, but it’s just the fact that if I do go and have a play I want to actually play something and not look at a video screen with their new weird boring games. But yeah I am stupid to miss them and I will be honest that even tho I have not played a single spin of a machine in years I know for a fact if I was to go play today and lose £10 I would chase that £10 no matter what, then of course that turns into £20, then £50 and so on. I will always be an addict I think, but one thing I do know I have control over is to pay bills and family first before machines, that I am confident of but I have no control to stop spending my money in machines.

But as things stand, if all I find are video machines everywhere then I guess I am done with machines for good, I will soon find out.

Thanks to all for the replies, advise and info here! What a shame, all good (better) machines are basically
Over, it’s interesting what you say Nails regarding Barcrest pulling out because yeah it was any Barcrest machine I was happy to play basically (as they also made for Extreme, Red etc) they were all at least proper AWP machines. I will definitely try to get to some places mentioned but damn it is a shame that all the seasides have changed, I used to love them, I wonder if any seaside has some old machines, we’ll just anything but video ones! It was honestly a great memory going to seasides as a teen and playing in the amusements, but again like I said Yarmouth & Hemsby shocked me that everything had basically gone, such big arcades but no high tech machines anywhere (except some DOND). It’s why I went to seasides, because I liked the atmosphere, but I guess I can go again and do something else other than the machines because I still do like the atmosphere of seasides.

So that is that I guess? Maybe we can pray that in the future a company like Barcrest comes along and gives us a load of machines again? Also where exactly do those old machines go? To have like 40 high techs just go from an arcade and be replaced by video ones like what happens to the high techs?

Thanks a lot tho but seriously “f” those video machines

Thanks so much for the replies, Nails when you say old Hi Techs do you mean like the JPM Rollercoaster era or a bit later such as Barcrests Space Raiders and clones
and Extreme Gaming Most Daunting and clones type?

Personally I'm not keen on any Hi Techs with a Jackpot over £35, that's when it all went down hill for me so don't really play in pubs and I just want that seaside feeling back, but as you say if it's Lo Techs and DOND at every seaside then that really is a shame.

Just want a good few Barcrests and Extremes and not Bullion Bars in every arcade, Tommy you say there is a lot of Hi techs at Coral island, do they have Barcrests etc or is every single one of them DOND?

Thanks guys

I haven't had any internet for the last two days at home thanks to wonderful Virgin Media so I made a start on this while I was waiting for it to come back

I wanted to try a machine with a disc reel so I'm looking forward to this one it may take a few weeks

Before anyone says the buttons will not be like that when its finished so don't panic lol

Hi beucegeorge, sorry I really do apologise for going off topic but I just want to quote you on this with not having any internet with Virgin Media, I have been with them for several months and have had nothing but problems with them. My comnection drops out like every hour, sometimes every 15 minutes, and then it will be ok for a week, and then again, will have more problems. They are constantly switching my service off and they state "there is a fault in your area, an engineer is on their way to fix it" < that has happened about 5 times since I have been with them. The biggest problem is the Xbox One, it just does not seem compatible with Virgin Media, constant disconnects etc etc, but I also have this with my other devices, so yeah I just wanted to quote you, I used to be with EE and had nothing but problems with them, that's why I switched to "the fastest and most reliable, best broadband service, "Virgin Media"

I also have the Superhub 2, would be interesting to know which router you have and what we can do about this, absoloutely terrible, sorry to blow up your thread again honestly.
