In Topic: windows 10 - upgrade removal

28 September 2015 - 10:13 PM

Just found out today, after upgrading yesterday, that Windows 10 is incompatible with Talk Talk email on Outlook 2013. I can receive email but can't send any out. What an absolute tit. I am well f*****g miffed. I left it a few months so shit like this would be sorted. Apparently Microsoft "know" it is an issue and are working on a fix.

Surprisingly it only took me 1/3rd of the time to restore to previous installed version then it did to upgrade to the latest. It probably won't help but Microsoft Office 2016 was released just last week maybe it's supported on that?

To be honest, it really isn't as bad as all the gossip that I have heard about it...

I have it running as smooth as silk on both my iMac (Bootcamp partition) and on my HP Pavilion touchscreen laptop after an upgrade from Windows 8.1.

Both have NEVER ran into any problem since I have had Windows 10 on them.

Each to their own I suppose... I know I would ALWAYS sooner have Windows XP above all of them, but this version is certainly a case of 'better the devil you know' ;)

Why XP over Windows 7? I skipped over Windows Vista upgraded from XP straight to Windows 7 and have skipped over Windows 8 and hoping Windows 10 is worth upgrading to I'm going the 64bit route and just know it's gone be a pain in the ass with hardware device driver compatibility but VMWare's latest released versions will only run on 64bit computers and I like their software

My Apple iMac (2014)...

I seem to be able to keep the desktop so much tidier ( so as you can see my Apple logo ;) ) - than I ever can on Windows desktops!

I believe it is because of the Dock that makes life so much easier on Apple OS X for Macs! :)

I use Fences Pro as it has patented 'Quick Hide' feature that enables users to hide icons by double clicking and can configure it to exclude hiding individual icons etc. it's pretty useful and make use of it daily so figured it was worth a mention

Desktop Quick-hide:

"Instantly clean up your desktop. Double-click any blank space on your desktop and your icons will fade out. Double-click again and they will return. You can even pick icons and individual fences to exclude."
