Can anyone tell me how to slow a game down as the games on my machine seem to run about twice the speed they should be?

Hi, can any body help me? I have down loaded the Great escape (Not Andys) Both the M1a Rom and layout, i get the machine on my screen but cant press any of the buttons??

Please help i can't figure out what to do and its winding me up!!!
