I have a recent machine, Hurricaine by GLOBAL, it has a normal coin mech and accepts all coins 10p, 20p, 5p, £1, £2 but wont accept 50p !!! Is that a problem with the mech or a software issue that I can change ???

Any ideas would be great !

Im probably being a numpty but cant get my Global HURRICAINE into test mode.

I do as the manual says, open the top door, press the red 'test' button on the hopper and the button on the MPU board at the same time, nothing happens !!

Ive also tried it with the refill key in, and with the bottom door open.

it's driving me nuts !

What am I doing wrong ?

My IMPULSE - HURRICANE warned that its RAM cleared a while ago, because I have not used it for a while. You chaps said about checking the battery on the board.

Now when I turn it on, every time, it makes a loud warning noise and says ON/OFF ALARM in the alpha display. Last for about 5 seconds then the machine starts up as normal.

Is this the battery for sure ?? or something else !!

Any help would be apprecitated, and anyone sell me a battery ?

Have not used my GLOBAL - Hurricaine for about a week, turned it on today and it went mental with a loud siren and said 'MEMORY RESET'. Im thinking that this is some form of battery backup that has failed, a bit like a PC's CMOS battery.

Im hoping that these machines dont use flash rom or something that is not easily replaceable.

Any of you engineer guys give me some help! I have some 2032 or similar lithuim sells if that is what I need.

Have an Global Grid Runner machine, ran the hopper out of coins, it span empty and then gave some error relating to paying out pounds and a loud siren noise. Refilled the hopper with 30 quid (refill key) and went to collect the rest of the bank. The hopper made a whining noise, did not spin round and then went back to the error code about payout. (not the IOU £10 message).

Took the hopper out, emptied all the coins out, span it round a little, put it back empty, went to collect the bank and it barely moves, just makes this noise.

Is it dead ??? Can I take it apart and realign the cogs or whatever is inside the hopper ?? I put coins back in an tried it again, still the same !!

Also looking to swap a good condition Hurricaine machine (perfect working order) + cash for something like a club machine with a £250 jackpot. Anyone interested ? I live in the London area, but cannot deliver.
