Is there anything missing from your tutorial psychoduck? I have done everything you said but when I run the new cursor exe the screen goes black and freezes.
In task manager I just get program not running. When I edit it back to ShowCursor the exe works fine again. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Nope, that's everything I do step by step. Admittedly, I'm no programmer, my skills are basic beyond belief. I was told what to do, essentially, by JayJay. Unable to figure it all out, I messed around with changing a few commands and that one worked for me everytime.

Which one are you trying to edit, btw? I could look at doing it myself and see if it works for me. I know there's a few it doesn't work with, but like i said earlier it works for about 95%

You can edit the exe files.

This works with 95% of them.

Download a little program called XVI32 it's easy to find on google.

Open it up. In the program, open the exe file of the quiz game you want to play. The left of the screen should be a load of numbers, the right will have some text about not working in dos and other stuff. Click 'search' and then 'find'

Tell it to look in 'Text string' and seach for: ShowCursor

You MUST use capital letters for the S and C.

Click the S of show, and type "Clip" so it now reads "ClipCursor"

save the file. Load the game. Hey presto, you have a mouse cursor, with no flickering or stupid red boxes, and it only takes 30 seconds, I've done all my games in about 10 minutes.

Hi

There is no problem with 1 v 100 I have played it on my pc here at home with sonar no issues other than i dont know the answers lol

Regards

Cliff c

If you don't know the answers, Cliff, is it safe to assume you've not made it to the cash round?

Cause we have this issue too. As soon as you beat the 100 contestants, and then have 100 boxes to eliminate with cash values in, it crashes. The first main part is 100% working and fine, but the prize round causes it to shut down. This applies on 3 different computers I have running it.

Don't know what time he was back on exactly, but the repro was working for me at 10:26 ... so I'm gonna assume i was pretty close, and Virgin are still arse clowns.

Is Cliffs repro down?

I can't get in

Thanks

Rodney

Yeah, think it's down right now.

If Virgin are installing between 9am and mid day as he said, then they'd likely get there at 11:59am, and be installing for 5 hours. Leave the house. Cliff would log on to the internet, realise he has no connection, call them up, they'd come straight back out and stare at the wires for a while... then say it's the local exchange, and they'd send an engineer out. Cliff will hear nothing for 3 hours. Then someone will come back and 'fix' it by simply connecting two wires they forgot to do the first time, but acting like it was a new thing.

Cliff will be online from around 9:47pm by my reckoning :)
