i see allot of pictures on the internet of scorpion 4 gamecards without the super capacitor. if i look at my own card in my machine there is a super cap fitited on the game card. Is this capacitor can some explain to mo  why this cap is missing on some boards? and is it necessary to fit one?

It's used to power the Real Time Clock IC on the gamecard if it has one. If there is no RTC IC there is no need for one.

If you’ve a machine that uses one of these game cards which the extra battery on and you put one without one on in,
you’ll get a rtc error 99

you’ll get a rtc error 99

Will the machine continue to start or will it stay in error state?

Thanks!
