Not forgetting the Simpsons, ooh well the withdrawal of any mfme updates only pushed fruit machine emulation back eight years just think what we could've been playing had this be released all that time ago, Dond , partytime £70jps amongst many other machine's upto 2012. A great shame.
The more I do today, The less I do tomorrow.
Fme is alive and screaming into the 21st century!
Enjoy FME and Happy Gaming!!!!

I think those days are long gone now BJ...

The one thing we can all agree on though is the kick in the teeth the video caused... I suppose it was inevitable really that he wouldn't release, and true to form, like he always played the FME scene on his terms, he didn't.

I suppose after nearly a decade without a major release, we are a scene that has done quite well, considering the ups-and-downs we've all encountered.

Just think though, if it had been released back then we would have most likely been exactly where we are today (minus new machines)... everything done, no resources left to use.

At least, hopefully, one day we have it all to come :)

I am 100% confident that all techs will one day be publicly emulated.

If mame had some design tools it would open up Phoenix tech which ran most of the electrocoin machines.   Labyrinth....   enough said.

MAME isn't 100% working though. Out of the 4 sets of ROMs, only 1 set boots properly, and even then the sound is knackered.

Can errors be logged to the mame team for fixing?  Have these errors been logged?

They can, but no devs on the team have any real interest in them and those that have the ability to get them working have them on the lowest priority.

A lot of the MAMEDEV team are anti gambling & don't really shine to the idea of gambling machines being a part of it.

If thats the case why can't they give wizard immunity for what has passed given that its now open source.I am sure this could pave the way for wizard to release an updated mfme maybe even under mame a bit like how the pinball scene has pinmame and visual pinball.I know i am in the minority but i fully believe that wizard was prepared to release an updated mfme .Sometimes you have to close an eye to get what you want.Certain people here were incapable of that and now we have mame with hundreds of roms listed but little else.

He had nearly 10 years to release an updated one and didn't. Let's not forget the fact he tried to sell the emulator as well at some point. It's one thing using it and not crediting it but then using that said free work for your own gains is down right filth.

At least the video proves that these games can be emulated.  Maybe they will get done in the future by someone else.  Or maybe Wizard will have a change of heart one day and think that life is too short, rise above all the sniping and release a new version totally out of the blue on a wet Sunday afternoon when no-one expects it.  What a fantastic surprise that would be!

Actually, even though a lot of people were pissed off with that video, I for one would love to see a 'What You Could Have Got Mk2' video, with some different games on it.  Maybe Monte Carlo or Bust or Red Hot Poker for BWB video, Beer Guide and Italian Job 2 for Epoch, PCP Master Spy and BWB Lucky Lady for System 80 non-runners...that sort of thing.  Maybe Crazy Crocs as well.  Or even an early DOND.

So - what would YOU like to see on a follow-up video?

that gives the idea of a dual emulator running a top box and running a slave (the machine itself).

I'm not pissed off in the slightest, I'm gutted but it is nice just to see this stuff in emulation.   I think it was all a clever hoax to be honest ;)
