Hi guys,

I've got a DOND Big Reds, and the coin mech in it (A cashflow 9524Xe) didn't take many coins, about 1 in 20, so I replaced it for a Cashflow 126.

I've got it installed inside the machine, but it isn't taking any coins at all. If i put coins in the mech with the machine door open, the LED on the mech flashes 4 times, which the manual says "Coins recognised, but not accepted due to inhibit setting".

I've made sure that the software isn't set to inhibit coins in the Bacta test screen. I don't think there are any inhibits set on the mech itself... I don't know where to go from here?

Also the machine label inside says that only a serial acceptor will work. Is the 126 a serial acceptor? The serial plug does fit into what looks like a serial port at the bottom, just by the sorter.

Another thing is that I don't seem to have a route-inhibit connector plug inside the machine. Is this what the acceptor wants before it will work?

Cheers!

That mech is too old for the machine.

Mech don't need routing plug to work, but coins will prob go the wrong way.

So no matter what I do, it won't work?

Cheers for the help so far!

The original mech will have spring loaded flap on it the can be opened, get a cloth & spray some furniture polish on the cloth, clean behind the flap both sides.

With machine off of course.

Have you tried this on test mode? Ie, door open and press green button, select test coins and then insert every different coin from 5p to £2. I've done this before and it's accepted them and then accepted them when the door is shut. I think doing this clears the inhibiting?

I have the same coin acceptor in a £70 bell fruit machine and works fine so I don't think the age matters
