Hi

Visited Southwold Pier

To Find Out Its Arcade Has Been Sold To Another Company , Anyway

Was Actually Gutted To Discover All Machines Are Ticket Redemption Machines & The Prizes Really Are Not Worth Bothering With

Only Coin Paying Out Machines Are
Horse Racing Max Prize I Think Is £1.50
Coin Pushers
& Change Machines :p

Rest Are All Ticket Redemption - Gutted

& Also Shocked They Only Have 2 Crane Machines (1 Is Prize Everytime At £2.50) & Forgot The Other

I Personally Would Rather Take The Trip To Yarmouth Just For The ARCADE Experience

Just Wondering If Anyone Else Has Been There Or If There Are Any More Arcades That Follow This Stupid ALL Redemption Idea

+ Top That They Only Have 3 Fruity s & There all Ticket Redemption

Hi mate. I've been to weymouth for god knows how long, and was gutted when an arcade at a caravan site outside Weymouth is just the same, and nearly all arcades are also the same around Weymouth itself. There is only 1 arcade in Weymouth nearest the funfare at the caravan site that has a few AWPs, mostly Epoch ones like Meltdown and Wipeout. the only fruities in the other one is party time arena both multi and single player and again the Epoch version of the Italian Job which isn't working anyway! Also in Weymouth they used to have this strange spider stomper machine which was a prize redemption machine and a machine that looks like a crane machine but you have to hit this head that pops up with a hammer. Also, I have seen the most pointless machines ever in arcades, and that is this electric chair thing which I've tried and I hate it!

Haven't been on Southwold Pier for quite awhile. Have done work in the arcade in the building at the front entrance and the machines then were OK. Must been recently, since the new owners, that they have decided to go down the ticket redemption route. Thanks for the Heads-Up Source, shan't be going there anymore.

You say Gt Yarmouth, but don't forget Gorleston on the other side of the harbour!!!! One arcade left on the seafront, free parking outside as well and a fantastic beach.

Ocean Bay Amusements, Pier Gardens, Gorleston on Sea. Good selection of machines for a small arcade. Didn't see a ticket redemption machine there.

All of the arcades near to me are like this now.  Just banks and banks of ticket machines with horrendous cheap tat as prizes.  I think we really have seen the end of the arcades we love, such a shame.

Having been on holiday last week I can also see the increase of ticket machines real pain in arse carrying 3000 tickets about, why haven't they adopted the ticket printing system instead of those ticket munching machines which always jam up. Anyways back to hols, the caravan site did have around 2dozen fruits last year this year only 13 rest made up of ticket slots, but saying that down in Paington and Torquay some good arcades to be found firstly Paignton around 4 child friendly sites with the usual 3 n 4 player type machines as with all arcades this days they all pay nowt out for ages then drop the lot in one streak (seen a woman take out £40 in a partygames one board £5jp). Also there's a few classic slots crazy fruits feature board one 5p nudger eachway nudger etc
Then 4miles down road Torquay two arcades, but one of real interest is a massive one called golden palms now its huge with every machine you can think of definitely worth a day or six in there usual array of slots including dond's, partytimes, golden game, partygames, monopoly, double deckers, super reels, reno casino, hokey cokey the list goes on n on then there's the classic machines, little big ben (of which I should of taking piccies for dx purposes) super bear x the new jpm red alert basically the same as the old version, exchanges unlimited 2p nudger addams family tick tock cash eachway nudger 2p play clockwork oranges lol plus more feature board type machines from early 2000's so loads to play on. Plus there,s them bleeding ticket machines of which I played on at a massive 50% payout
The more I do today, The less I do tomorrow.
Fme is alive and screaming into the 21st century!
Enjoy FME and Happy Gaming!!!!

gotta stop you there.

for small time operators its a blessing is disguise as you`'ll be paying 20% on nothing, the large companies are now faced with the task of packing their sites out with as many machines as possible to cushion the blow of the tax.

if an operator isn't getting of their arse to get new machines in, its his own fault hes being penalized by the new MGD

Hunstanton pier did this exact thing a couple of years ago.

Clearly backfired as there's alot more cash payout machines in there now.

It was 90% ticket. More like 50/50 now. Still a dump either way though.
