Hi I'm new to the site and was hoping to get an emulator for the machine at work that I play and occasionally win on :) The idea being to learn the machine so that I can make it pay out the maximum.

I can't find roms for this machine though, there are some flyer scans in the gallery but that's all. There is some confusion as Empire also have a game called "High Spirits" which is a wild west theme game. This is HI spirits which is themed around drunk ghosts.

Reading around the forums it appears the the emulation is not accurate enough to use experience from the emu in real life so maybe my quest is doomed to be fruitless. (excuse the pun) Maybe someone else reading this is an expert on this game and can give me some help. I've written everything I know about it below so feel free to add anything or correct me...

The machine can be set to 5p, 10p, 20p, 25p or 30p a play and jackpots can be set to £5, £8 or £25. My machine is a £5 jackpot. I have no idea if there are variations when you set to other jackpot amounts. The most I've taken from the £5 machine I play is £20 from putting in £4

Here's what I've learned from playing the game so far:

The game is fairly simple with only 2 trails that run at the same time up to a roulette wheel at the top which pays out at least once before bumping you off, sometimes a lot more depending on how full it is.

When you get on the board (start feature) the trails light up with green bats. When you land on one of these it gives you 1-4 nudges which you can use to nudge in the red bar feature, a cash win or more ghosts.

There's a staircase full of red bonus icons which activates at random. It gives you these seemingly as and when it feels like it.

--------- Tips -------------------------------------

Nudging in 3 red bars to the win line will activate the Barrel feature, which allows a skill stop on either any cash amount or any feature, but will occasionally pick one for you.

Usually when you spin the reels and get one nudge you will hear a slide-whistle noise. If you get one nudge and hear a church organ noise, whatever symbol you nudge in next will be spun in for you on the other 2 reels giving you a win.

Gamble Nudge usually gives you at least 4 nudges. once you've used 2, gamble nudge again to get it back up to 4. Don't try to nudge in the jackpot symbols doing this as it won't let you. Go for ghosts. Keep an eye on the exchange for feature button and hit it as soon as it lights up.

When it tells you to Spin 'em all (hold none), hold a certain reel or hold 'em all, do it. It'll give you a win.

When the Hi Spirits symbol turns completely pink (It's usually blue and pink) you can Hi-Lo gamble all the way to the top of either trail and you will never lose.

--------- Red Bonus Icons ---------------------

Extra life, No Lose streak and No Lose are all the same thing and my personal favourites for climbing the feature trails. Get a wrong number on the hi-lo and you keep going.

Great 8 and Super 6 mean if you have either of these numbers in the hi-lo reel then you can gamble, and if you lose you keep going.

Boost and Super Boost move you up either trail, or both.

Change number and Extra Nudges are pretty obvious.

Cash Repeat chance gives you a Yes/No repeat chance when you hit the Take Cash button.

Hi Spirits symbol adds a symbol to the Jackpot roulette feature. Get 4 to activate it.

I've never had Super Nudges, Equaliser or Turbo Gamble so I have no idea what they do...

--------- Features --------------------------

Cherry Heaven will spin in 3 cherries. Depending on how much the machine wants to pay out it will spin them in several times giving you a larger win.

Super hold will move the reels up and down one space, and you press hold to stop the reel. Whatever is in view before you start the feature you will be able to nudge in. Nudge 3 ghosts in if you can. Apparently this sometimes goes further than one space if no win or ghosts are visible but I've yet to see it.

Fruit punch stops on one of the fruit icons in view and gives you the win for that fruit. Almost always grapes.

Ball and Chain scrolls cash amounts on the screen and you stop them. Whatever is in view you win.

Cavalier Cash is a skill stop on the fruit icons under the hold buttons and you can usually get 3 red 7's depending on how fast it goes. Will sometimes let you hold cancel and go very slow.

Spiritual Spin spins you in 1 win.

Ghost buster - never had it.

7 Stepper nudges down the reels until 3 7s are in view. Depending on what colour they are you will win big or small. If you know the reels inside out you can get Red 7's for a big win.

I've never tried any of the top 5 features. If I get that high up the trail it's on an invincible mode or a couple of extra lives and I go all the way to the top.

----- Jackpot Roulette (Hi Spirits) ---------------

I don't get on this often enough to see any pattern but it seems to be just keep pressing start and take whatever it gives you. You can't lose what you win on it, all that happens if you land on the lose icon is that the feature stops and you collect.

That's all I've learned about this machine. If you have any other info or tips please reply.

Although I haven't checked, I dare say that Global provided that information. Nothing in there of any use - most of it is incorrect, which is suggests it probably is from the manufacturer [they can be hopeless sometimes :)]

I don't work for Global. everything I wrote came from what I've learned playing the machine.

I didn't expect it all to be correct, that's why I invited corrections at the end.

And I daresay a lot of you know all of this already, again, my post is a request for help, not a player's guide.

Please think before replying.

"Ghost Buster" gives a fast skill stop on the LED 12345678 will 'skill stop' back and forth quickly. the number you stop it on is the number of blasts you get.

Turbo gamble will advance you up a trail 2 or more spaces pending a winning gamble on your next go after getting turbo gamble.
Super Nudges will allow you to select the position of a bat for nudges.
so say you are on cherry spinner and you need one nudge to have a superhold on red sevens and you have a 12 on the right hand side.....you work it out!

"Reel Devil" is a TRUE SKILL reel skill onto jackpot, but the middle reel spins around at a medium pace. You must hit the Global on the winline. If you can't do these, may as well for for the top.

The last feature before the top is a win series, usually for around £9-£14, so don't get too excited by that.

Cavalier Cash onto red 7s every time! In your dreams! It usually jump down to mixed sevens if feeling stingy, no mater where you hit it.

Equalizer will level both sides of the trail. If you're on cherry spinner one side and £20 the other......you've got a win series as well....

This is a lovely machine and much better than Empire's High Spirits.
It's a rare game to find, but profitable. Ahem, where do you work? :)

I've been two nudges off Globals before, had stopper nudge off the bottom and got three nudges! Where was the proverbial one?

On 90%+ providing Nudgeman isn't there to kill it, this is a stunning game with great gameplay. However it does go through the Global +ve/-ve reflexes. If it's on a -ve, don't expect to gamble very far.

Also you can lose the gamble from £20 to the top, it's usually not dirty, but be warned it can happen!

If you've got that high and lost it'll return within £25, usually much sooner (you hope!)

Know you 7s.

GHOSTBUSTERS!!!!

They're the same 7s as BLV, WLTBMH, SNB, IAJGMOOH, CR, WS, BU ad infinitum. On Beaver Uncovered (BU) you can step up and down on 7 stepper.

There's more to this machine, so much more! A great Roman leader will set you on the right path.

If you're good at skills those boxes can create invaluable rips on skill.

Best of luck.

That stuff about 'skills on boxes' - no offense, load of shi*e. Same about 7 stepper. Monty Python and Spiker the Biker [2 far greater machines than this shite] give Up + Down on 7 Stepper. Beaver Uncovered is a load of shi*e as well. Another Global rebuild on the EPOCH tech, constant £2/3 blocks followed by an IM.

I've decided to break the mould and give you some useful tips ten98

Firstly, its easy to know when playing well as it will always give you 3 holds on bats, or always let em spin to put you on the board. If it doesn't then its not even worth bank-building.

The top feature - full-moon-fever is unlikely to pay more than single jackpot.

The tactics I use to win are:

1. Super-nudges - when on the "roulette wheel" gamble on 1-4, 9-12. You should end up with 6 nudges before being thrown off. If there is no decent win on 6 nudges say, shuffle the reels. Continue this until you are out of nudges (if it doesn't offer jackpot on super-nudges). Once you super-nudges are at 0 again, the machine will let you win on a crap number to build your numbers up again.

2. Reel blasts - use the same tactic as super-nudges, shuffle the reels to get decent win. BE CAREFUL ON BLASTS - THIS MACHINE IS PRONE TO BLOWN BULBS

3. Leave after winning a jp

Hi Spirits... Now this machine is EXCELENT :)

I won over £150.00 when it was a £15.00 Jackpot.

My advice is to use the second feature SUPER HOLD. 8/10 if there is NO WIN, nor the faces in the window it will step 1 extra step. If still no win or faces from this extra step, step one more.
I've had jackpot from using this plenty of times.

What I tend to do is... If the numbers are poor take super hold and hold 3 faces again which allows you to re enter the "board". Sometimes I have a low win in view if I use super hold, but a good number. So I super hold the 3 faces hoping the reels respin a good win into view or by one step.

This machine does do secret holds after win. Once the winnings have gone into your bank... Press the hold buttons and sometimes they hold. :)

If I could get there I'd bid on this

Take it from me, shop around and you can get that machine for £100...Maygays/Globals/Impulses on the EPOCH tech are worthless these days!
