With the release of v10145 last night over at Dads, the emulator is pretty stable.
I hope to begin a series of posts tonight detailing layout creation techniques.
The state of each technology is as follows.
MPU4 - Pretty complete, 6 reel setups and Disc reel are the most prominent lacking features. Sound is complete.
MPU3 - Broken, awaiting a good going over by me to get it running right.
Scorpion 1 - Working, but largely untested because of time constraints. Sound is complete.
Scorpion 2 - Almost complete, has been much better tested than Scorp1, DMD works, Sound works. Only issue is the sound on global games which sometimes doesn't cancel the current playing sound when it should.
M1x - Working for all games tested so far, sound is complete, improved reel driver should allow Crazy Cobra's to work now.
System 83 - Working for cops and robbers, requires an update to allow switch matrix to be altered from game to game, much more complete than MPU3, a week or so should see it running fully.
I will create an updated installer pack in the near future to allow for easy installation. Those of you waiting for a stable emulator before having a dabble, it should now be stable enough.
See this thread @DadsFME for full details of the updates and improvements.

With the layout creation docs being posted this evening onwards, we should see more layouts being created, including some "never emulated before".
