Hi people.

Recently bought a fruit machine ... completely new to being an owner but all the enthusiasm in the world about it!

Only problem is it has this error code when I turn it on...

Strim alm 19

Could some kind person talk me through what I've got to do to fix this?

Many thanks in advance

Try closing all the doors and let the error sound, the alarm will continue for a moment or two..and then it should go silent.

Keep waiting until the error clears from the display

When it has cleared pop a coin in and that should sort out the issue - i believe if you dont
put a coin in the error will keep coming back everytime you open and close the doors.

And if its bellfruit due to scorp4/5 probs non of that works. ram clear as the error is still being held with in ram.

In my scorpion 4 manual i have here STRIM19 - ACTION to take is - Check Note Acceptor, so yeah what i said may not work depending on what machine you have, if the alarm does not stop using the method i wrote above it might be something to do with the acceptor but I'm not sure what, im no expert with note acceptors!

Nick i repair machines every day i used to own an FTU4 untill i sold it to a matey on the mecca. It was a common prob it don`t matter what machine you own scorp4 had its problem of comming up with random coin mech errors, There is two rev of the scorp4 mpu the older model with 2 processors was always a better mpu as for the newer rev which was one surface mount which was a pain in the back door.

As for the note accepter as this also runs inline with input coin handles. It can also pulse on that line. Mostly tho mpu clear down (ram clear). Then look at the coin mech for issue of jam`s across the opto`s and separator. Weak line on the 12v from the psu and or FWare has gone bad within the mech

The most common are and where 126dfx and 126ref for doing this and one or so reports of CF95XX too

How ever nick i`m not having a pop nor am i stating that your are wrong how ever manuals are made at the going time of the producted was made. They do not update when software was rewriten after the manual was made. Sometimes they keep things like the basics in place. When they feel like having a laugh i do think they do change it just to catch us all out.

some people on here( saying no names )  have a ram clear fetish and must cum in there pants when it is mentioned

i have been fixing amusement machines for over 20 years on site and in very very busy arcades  and i have never had to do a ram clear to stop a strim alarm

i have found that on some mechs mainly sr5,s  bring up a strim alarm when a £2 coin is inserted but even that is rare and i havnt been to a strim alarm for over a year neither has the 8 engineers under me

thanks for the reply , more info , its a red gaming DNA machine 2005 , so when i switch on an alarm comes on for a couple of seconds loud siren noise , then led display says strim alm 19.

on opening the board is marked mpu5

i have all the keys

is there anyway i can fix this or disconnect something ?

when i bought it it was working fine , however i put in 20p's and it worked,  then i inserted a pound coin which jammed , i did manage to get this pound out.

since then the alarm

i have tried switching on off a few times but no joy

thanks in advance

I think CGLeisure was more saying by disconnecting the speaker it would help you view the machine without an annoying screaming alarm going off in your ear.

I would go with either your mech still had a few jammed coins or the mech has an issue.

whats the longest you have let the alarm and flashing display run for before you turn it off ?

and did you turn the machine off before you unplugged the mech and reconnected the mech ?

where in the mech  did you find the jammed coin ?

sorry about all the questions but if i had your machine in front of me it would have been fixed in 2 mins lol

Me and you both CG 20years at the end of this month mate. Lol and now we have what unit it is being an mpu5 Sr5 1million % agreed on £2 probs, Mechs gone hi or Jammed coins

Also CG your saying that you have never done a ram clear hmmmm ok so you have never changed the price of play on club machine then or changed a game card or proms or mpu replaced or replaced a dead battery on a epoch for example  (In 20years i`ve changed loads that clears the ram)

senior tech ? okay i power up the machine , the alarm comes on and sounds for maybe a second or two then goes off , the display then reads strim alm 19.

i turned the machine of disconnected the mech , the pound coin popped out , so not sure where from lol , i gave it a good blow out then connected back up.

powered up the machine then exactly the same happens.

thanks

impact, i think cgleisure meant he has never had to do a ram clear to remove a strim alarm which i have to say neither have i in 20 years of repairing machines.
