Hi Welcome to Fruit-Emu

DIP switches allow you to change the % and The Stake and jackpot of a machine,

That isnt a very accurate discription but im sure somebody else will fill you in more than i can,

Hope this helps

Dip switches allow you to change settings in a physical sense, rather than a software sense. Basically, on the machine motherboard there will be 'banks', that is, areas with DIP switches. They normally come in groups of 8, and by changing the positions of the switches, you can affect certain features. I guess the most common for machines on site would be :

No Bank [by turning that switch on, wins are paid out as soon as they occur]
Odd Percentage [by turning that switch 'on', +1 is automatically added to the current %age]
LBO Site [by turning that switch on, you change the 'attract' mode - that is, the mode where all the lights flash to attract a player. By putting the machine into LBO [Licensed Betting Office] mode, the attract mode will generally be far slower, with dimmed lamps, and with no sound effects.

To be honest, they are of little use in the emulator [except when machines can ONLY have the percentage, stake and prize changed by dipswitches], or to anyone who owns a machine for private use :)
