strike a light (old barcrest £3 jp) i had no less than FIFTHTEEN hold on 5+5+5, though the machine went empty on about the 10th he let me play on, chink chink chink of the empty tube was heard all over the arcade. they eventually gave me a cloth bag with £45 in 20p token in.. fantastic

If we're talking Barcrest - Fortune Numbers feature held on £2 square for me in an arcade in Torquay. I didn't actually count, but it stopped just after it emptied and I won about £45 cash back from the tokens. It was a lot, something in the order of 15 times. I was amazed it actually reached the £2 square in normal play, never mind feature holding on it afterwards. It was bringing in 20 pence wins on every spin to try and override the £2, but the £2 always paid as the highest win.

Razzle Dazzle has to be one of my all time favourites, the one in our local Cascades used to give 3 quid in tokens and used to be really generous,so in turn i`d put all the tokens into the Silver Ghosts which paid out 50p a time for 3 mixed bars lol :D

Einstein`s theory of FME 90 downloads = 3 thanks

Ah yes CB, always the Silver Ghost for you. Think a lot of my tokens went through Fruit Snappa and Frog Hop, though for turning tokens to cash it was hard to beat Silver Ghost. At our local Nobles they had about 30 of them and every Saturday morning they would be all taken with customers lining up to go on them. Now it is full of modern shite and will probably close down due to lack of custom, though it is no longer Nobles.

Of the JPM's of that era is was nudge double up / nudge double up deluxe for me. Having the melons drop in and hold 5 or 6 times really focusses the mind. What was the JPM machine of that era that had the numbers on the reels and they had to add to more than 5 so you got any nudges and a toal of 6 represented 1 nudge, 7 made 2 nudges etc up to 10 which gave you 5 nudges. You could then gamble the nudges to a max of 10 and then shuffle if a win wasn't close enough. I found this one incredibly tight. Rumour had it it gave random nudges and had a nudge stop button built in and everything, but I never saw it give out random nudges ever. And if you did shuffle from nudges it invariably bought in 2 bloody cherries for 10 / 20 pence. Memories.... So what was it guys?? bj

I used to love this one, and I should have a picture of it somewhere. It might even still be my profile pic on mecca?
This actually had a bit of a streak in it. It used to give a run of bonus nudges for a nice big pile of tokens, but was very rare.

Yes - this is a far later version of it though - looks very similar in layout. The one I played was early 80's.

Wrong lol

Never really liked this machine for some reason, can't really put my finger on it but I certainly know what you mean by instantly transporting you back to your youth.

The machines that do it for me are Lite a Nudge, Eachway Nudger, Nudge double Up and of course my all time favourite Poolplay!

Any Carfield machine too for that matter, such as 2p Gambler & Frenzy!

Carfield eh?

One up on E-bay right now, in need of a service.

Ask John_Disco if you need advice on Carfield.

As for my fave machines, has to be a number listed here.....

Project Rags To Riches, Fortune Wheel (Please, anyone out there with a Rags machine, CALL ME!)
Electrocoin Space Trek, Spynx, and Pyramid
BFM Cats Cradle (Got it's sister here, Cross Over)
BGT Wild Cherry
Reflex Magnificent 7's £35JP (One at JEM Broardmarsh Nottingham)
ACE Spellbound / Sidewinder

That's almost identical to a machine I played when I was about 16, but there was no repeat. The 50p win decals were also pink discs with horseshoes on them. The £1 wins were Black & White 7's. It was also 5p play not 2p.

I remember emptying it once as the first reel stuck on a cherry - took bloody ages lol

Brilliant machine though as all Carfield's were!

Nope, but they did patent nudges itself.

Barcrest invented GAIN and it was first introduced to the world with Line Up. As Stan said, carfield patented nudges and that patent is often seen on the glass of other makers' machines.
