File Name: Each Way Shifter 1600 DX
File Submitter: ploggy
File Submitted: 06 Jun 2010
File Category: MPU 4

Here's the completed DX for the MDM machine called Each Way Shifter. An interesting mid-tech machine with some good sounds. Best played on MFME3.2. If it's played on any other version of MFME the reels will cut into the nudge lamps on the bottom glass, so 3.2 is the way to go. Plus it's my customary 1600x1200, so people with smaller monitors will need to use 3.2 anyway. I couldn't find the original reel images this machine used, so I've adapted some images I already had. If anyone has the proper reel images, I could get it updated.

Thanks for this layout go to AAAmusements, for the roms. HTS, for the manual. And also SPA, for the photos that were used. :)

Shortcuts for this, are:

Cancel - `
Hold/Nudge - 1
Hold/Nudge - 2
Hold/Nudge - 3
Take - T
Gamble - G
Bank Shifts Chance - B
Start - Space
Shift Left (Top) - Numpad 7
Shift Right (Top) - Numpad 9
Shift Left (Middle) - Numpad 4
Shift Right (Middle) - Numpad 6
Shift Left (Bottom) - Numpad 1
Shift Right (Bottom) - Numpad 3
10p Insert - 7
20p Insert - 8
50p Insert - 9
£1 Insert - 0

Enjoy this rare MPU4 release!

Thanks for the layout - great job.

Shame the machine is such a monumental turd. Each way shifter, well they were close just got an F instead of a T.

Still, good fun playing it, and it is exactly as I remember - which is a shame :)

Thank you so much for this most excellent release. I love this machine it's lo tech so to speak but has a bit of game play to it trying to step the wins in. Loved this on 2p play £5 jackpot. Had it in skeggy and would get a JP every day from about £2. Again thanks for this and all the hard work put into making it.

This is classed as a mid-tech machine because it has a feature. The Barcrest machine Lucky Lotto is classed as a mid-tech machine as well. But you wouldn't think it by looking at it. Lo-tech machines are Bar-X, Cloud 999, 777 Heaven etc. Glad the layout is being enjoyed. :)

So would party time also be classed a mid-tech?

I wouldn't have thought so, mate. If you're talking about the classic version which has top reels. It gives the top reels bonus entirely at random, so I would have thought it would be classed as a lo-tech. The player has no way of getting the top reels through gameplay/strategy. Now, Red Hot Roll and machines of that ilk could be classed as mid-tech machines because the player needs to use a bit of strategy normally to achieve the RHR feature, and isn't random like Party Time.

By the way, when I said Lucky Lotto is classed as being a mid-tech machine, it's actually classed as a lo-tech machine according to my notes, so I messed up on that one. I thought it was a mid-tech machine because of the bingo card on the top.

I've just bought this machine as it was a favourite of mine in years gone by. I'm having great fun getting it working!
