my previous problems with stuck reels, and sometimes going higher than a 3 when its then a 10 kills you have been sorted thanks to all.

the problem was down to 1stly dust in the reel (a mountain of it) however even after cleaning a lot of it the machine still sometimes kills me if i go higher than a 3 n its a 10, i believe its down to a bug, but im not too fussed as the machine is just a bit of fun for my use only to help em save up

another thing was the cracked reel, i inspected it today and it doesnt seem bad at all, its nowhere near the edges and i reckon its not going to get any worse.

i was reading the manual earlier but its seems like reading university level algebra lol.

i have been looking at "switches" on the main board i can see "switches" but next to it is a few pins only... are these like pc jumper settings??

i read about a way you can disable the main alarm and keep the sound on, but it said something about changing a switch that i dont understand, i would like to get rid of the alarm fully because at the moment i have unplugged the audio cable just in case i decide to play on it at 4am and it goes off (not good)

another thing was concerning the "stake key" mine is 35jp/25p a spin... is there somewhere where i can get a 10p/spin key but keep the jackpot the same??

my machine is red gaming: invincible

thanks :D

The switch will be on the mpu 5 board there is a bank of 8 i don't know which one it is but your manual should tell you that.As for changing the prize to £35 jp/10p play is a no no you could have it on £5 10p if you have a switchable prize and stake key.

thanks for the reply :D,

for 10p/£5 play, would any prize key work for that (would i need both prize + stake key or would the current stake key be fine?) or would i need 1 specifically for that machine?

next regarding the "switches" what sorta thing would i be looking for? a button? or is actually the pins?

edit:

iv found it i think, checked inside and theres a poster on the back saying "switch 6 - coin alarm inhibit" it says its on switch bank 2 on prog card... so im guessing thats the card that can be pulled out (with % keys on it) iv taken it out, checked for "switch number 6" pushed it to the other side (all switches were on the same side) does this mean the alarm is now gone?

ahhh.... thanks for your help matey :D

think its all sorted then, also was gonna say, does "coin alarm inhibit" come under the alarm that goes off when you power it on/off too quick and get that 30 second countdown? cause thats the 1 that sounds like a very loud police car

I'm not to sure about that but it maybe the on off alarm as my legal tender used to do it so used the dip switches to stop it.

ahh nice1 again matey, will have to see in morning if thats helped that problem, when an alarm goes off in a pub/arcade machine i never notice it to be as loud as that 1...

if anyone else can help me with suggestions for a different stake key for it id be more than happy, realistically looking for 10p/£5 or still £35 jp but a lower stake that 25p, even 20p would be better

thanks :D

As for the number reel not working correctly and you have said its cracked it has prolly moved from its correct position. All you need to do is make sure the band is in its correct position then selotape it if needed so it dont move again.

Trust me it's a bug. I'm no engineer but I've played more than my fair share of Vortex/Invincibles in the wild and this is a common occurrance.
Some just go out of sync every once in a while but some go out of sync more than they work, never get fixed and as the perfect example explain this scenario
on a 12 with only the lower button lit, so you hit the lower, you visibly see the reel go out of sync and it gives you lose.

Highly annoying.

fruitman - the band is 100% in its correct position, the thing with it is about 80% of the time it works perfectly now its been cleaned, but now and again as gambogaz1 says silly things like with the 12 happen... even a few time it shows a bonus 3 but i dont get a bonus, or i go higher than a normal 3, its a bonus 3 and kills me

the cracked reel is the main fruit reel not the number reel, but when i checked it didnt look half as bad as i thought, i have sorted the incorrect wins problem that i thought was a problem with the main reel, because i would have 3 pears (£3 win) and it would pay £4, now i think i know why it does that, because thoese wins were with 3 "gm pears" which must pay the won for the pears + the win for 3 gm symbols ;)

thanks again for the replies

If you get a win £4 or below and all the fruits have GM's on it gives you a 1 cash boost so you get the win directly above it.
It's £4 or below because all the symbols that give wins higher than £4 don't have GM symbols on them.

Regarding the bug it's almost like the machine has realised the number reel has gone out of sync, but in trying to re-align it it'll confuse itself and just give lose.

I've never understood why it doesn't set some kind of alarm off like I've known in the past when the fruit reels have malfunctioned.

yeh thast deffo what it is with the main reels :D,

yea, i notice usually when the bug happens the number reels spin for a little bit longer than they usually do so i guess thats what is doing

it reminds me of when i played this pink panther machine at the arcade, the 1 with the 3 bombs to light on the main board, when 3 are lit shots are open, when they are lit again it red your invincible, i played it and the numbers actually got stuck, i told the assistant who was adamant the number showing was a 12 (clearly it wasnt because it had got stuck) so i went lower just to proove her wrong and i was killed, then was told i would have to play my credit through (bout £7) so she could turn off the machine, no refund given either :( d'oh
