Higher protein, lower carbohydrate diet, coupled with 4-5 1 hr periods of light/moderate exercise a week will get the weight off a damn sight quicker.
Keep off the beer too, drink spirits - approx. 200cals per pint as opposed to 60 cals per measure (rough guide only, but you get the point).
In my totally unprofessional opinion anyway - you can do stomach crunches and the like till your hearts contect, but if your body fat % is too high, you'll not even get close to the washboard that the guys on the adverts have.

I'm goin to try the dieting as well mate any advice on what i should and shouldnt eat? I'm goin to go walking with my gf etc as well would that count as a light to moderate exercise is we walked about 30 mins a day. I'm not looking to look like the guys in the ads i would never have a chance of getting like that lol. I don't drink as much as i used to so i'm pretty safe there and when i'm at the bar its mostly only spirits anyway lol.

If your looking to tone up then get the iron gym.
if your looking to lose weight then do cardio exercise (running etc) and eat healthily.
unless you can do pull ups and deep press ups like that already then that thing will be useless to you. ive been going to the gym for close to two months now and my arms are pretty toned but i can only do a couple of pull ups before i literally cant pull myself up anymore.

I think i'm going to combine both as i really need to change my attitude from saying i'll do it some other time to rite i'm not doing anythin i'll do a bit of a work out. I take it wen i'm starting out with dieting and fitness i should take it easy at first and build it up to a more intensive regime

8 pints of bulmers and a king donner kebab (delievered of course, you don't want to be buring any calories now) is the way to go there - you'll put plenty of weight on, unfortunately it'll be 100% fat.
There's no quick way of putting on muscle i'm afraid, it's a long hard slog.

If you can, try changing from the 3 traditional meals a day to 5 or 6 smaller meals evenly spaced out. You should look to take in around 300 calories per meal, or 1600-1800 per day. Eat after exercising, that way you'll still be burning more calories than you would sitting at the dinner table. It might mean a bit of a shock to the system at the start, but a bit of label reading or research and you'll be surprised what you can have for that. Simple things like going from Full fat (5% fat per 100ml) to semi skimmed (1.8% fat per 100 ml) or if you can stomach it, skimmed milk (virtually no fat, but no taste either), save on your daily fat intake.
Save the diet coke for when your on your spirits, don't go on 2 litres a day thinking it's okay as it's diet, it'll only bloat you - get onto sugar free diluting juice - an easy way to get 2-3litres of water a day into your system, something else which you should look to be doing, and at a cost of 0 (or as near as damn it) calories.
Something cheap that I'd consider investing in is a skipping rope - try 10 mins on the bounce, you'll realise how tiring (and thus how beneficial) it can be.
As I said before i'm not very well read on this subject, just a bit of general knowledge picked up along the way of doing a bit of research myself.

Looks like i've started already coz i'm already drinking semi-skimmed milk i don't think i could stomach the skimmed milk to be honest but happy days on that lol. Yeah that sounds good because i so get peckish so maybe spreadin the meals out ova the day will help even if i'm eating less during them. I can handle the sugar free juice but i cant stand diet coke so it looks like its goin to have to be vodka and cranberrry or the sorts if i'm at the bar. Thanks for all the tips btw mate i'll be giving progress reports as much as i can be bothered to write them lol.

I used to be like that, but now at 34, i'm around the 11 1/2 stone mark @ 6ft.
If you wanna put on weight, do what I did.... go to New York for a week.... I went from a 34 to a 36 inch waist ever since I came back from there a number of years a go lol
