...what do you mean by that? The Refill key shouldn't do that. Do you mean you physically opened up a cabinet and used a different %age key?

How the hell have you not been banned?!!!

The standard refill key works on Electrocoins by turning it and then holding down the first hold or cancel button. The percentage is displayed in the credits display. Sorry, I should have called it a refill key, but I find the only real use for it these days is checking Electrocoin percentages.

The operator has the option to disable this if they so wish, but not many seem to do so. The only ones I have found disabled were in Mecca Bingo, and I know for a fact that they operate on 82% anyway.

electrocoin machines are a law unto themselves with their bizzarre test routines and lack of spare parts.

Those percentages you mentioned earlier (whoever it was) are not bad at all, most breweries now insist on their machines being at 70% in pubs.

The place to play em are rank amusements (92% usually)
Gala bingo (84%)

That i know of....
These are not bad percentages

70 ish is more likely to rip you off

Yeah who is gonna stop a pub landlord from playing a machine in his own pub? If a copper was in they won't say anything. Neither would a machine engineer I would think - even if they did the publican fella would just give him a pint and laugh it off.

Let's face it, even if the guy did watch the machine and then play it - the financial gain isn't gonna be that huge anyway, they ain't gonna win every time. The only people who'd be pi**ed would be those who filled the machine, and it's the same story. "Would you like a couple of drinks...on the house"

If that was at all necessary, lets face it your average punter isn't aware of the laws, and wouldn't want to become unpopular in his local.

it isn't even that pal, most landlords would simply say f*** off or your barred and thats the end of it. likewise with the machine engineers, they would just phone up and cause loads of grief. its not worth it.

Agreed....only problem is when the landlord and or barstaff have the keys - I'm not a big fan of that....Refloat keys are ok as they can use those to change volume but when they have the whole set they can start messing stuff up.

Anyway....I quite letting barstaff playmachines, most of the landlords e.t.c. that play machines in my locals are all freaks and the bandits tend to streak afterwards anyway :D As long as they get off to serve - and let the customers play the machines as well. If not then I stop drinking there :)

Not quite - the best reply to a threat like that, would be to immediately say something like 'OK then, ban me - you've been given that holy power, it seems...however, I have the power to oppose the next renewal of your publicans' licence - and I've already got enough video phonecam evidence to bring to the hearing that you play your own machine(s), which is contrary to the gaming act, not to mention brewery policy - you still wanna mess with me, pal?'

It should be outlawed outright, after all, the staff in all the major bookies, (Laddys, Coral, et al), have to go to another firm to place any personal bets, ie, they can't place bets in their own place of work (to prevent usage of inside info against the very company which they work for, I suppose) - and that's how it should be - the staff are there to work, NOT to gamble!

On a different note, what about cab offices - there's one in Lee, near Hither Green in Kent, and also in Erith (same firm, I think), which had a Public Enemy Club and a Football Club Manager respectively - these are in the waiting area, but as I put a spare quid in one Saturday night, the phone operator said "Oi, get off that mate, it's for staff only!" - and I'm like "WHAT??? Only your drivers can play this machine? Bollocks! :sneaky: " - and I ended up walking home, as I wasn't paying £15+ just to sit in the back of a skanky old Ford Fiesta with my shoes in a puddle of puke if they weren't gonna give me a chance to win back the fare...

I asked at the Lee office a few weeks later, and it was the same there - are they on the fiddle, 'cos this can't be right, surely?

PS - to make it worse, they were both on £250CP & £250RP - gutted!

PPS - everyone on this thread - LEARN TO FOOKIN' SPELL!!! :p :p :p

...Machines can be set to that pot level when sited, doesn't mean that the pot is full as such. I agree though - while £250 JP can only be used in clubs as such, It is a bit cheeky to not let the customers play it. Having said that, in not having the customers play it I bet they are not breaking any laws :)

Yeh, why have it in the public waiting area, if it's not for public use?

PS - like the new avatar - but quit going on about yer soddin' Radeon, no-one's interested

[Radeon Reference Removed!]

Yeah...does seem a little dodgy - Perhaps they didn't have the room for it out the back? Or perhaps they don't like you playing it because like me you ar infamous for playing machines and not losing as much as people like?

No, they didn't know who I was, and anyway, I don't play club machines - except the Monopoly we recently got about ten squillion releases of (the £25 hi-lo block is a real bastard, I've shovelled over v£200+ and I still can't get past it...)

How much did you buy the Radeon for anyway, I got a 9200SE 128MB for £37 inc P&P recently...

9200SE 128MB for £37

Is about the right price, but there is no way that you can compare a 9200SE [SE was the crippled version] to a 9700PRO.

I paid £130 for the Radeon a while back, Novemberish, because it was much faster than the Geforce TI ranges wen it came to Direct X 9. Added a huge heatsink/fan combo and it sold for £102 + £5 delivery.

Basically I needed the money so it had to go, and my old motherboard popped so I have no AGP slot on my current one. I miss it though, it could easily beat all but the Geforce FX 5900 and 5950 :)

(the £25 hi-lo block is a real bastard, I've shovelled over v£200+ and I still can't get past it...)

I gave up working on my RAM file, but basically at 600 in the Hi-Lo went to £75, and at about £750 the Hi-Lo went to about £100, nothing since then. Thats on the Dual Stake version, 10p/£100 + 20p/£200.

We must have made mikey so guilty he quit his job - or he realised we all thought leisurelink suck and told his bosses so...then they booted him.

Those are my favourite two scenarios anyway...
