Does your laptop have a seperate VGA out? To a stand-alone PC monitor? If it does, try it on a second monitor. If the picture is still broken, it would seem like a graphics error. If it isn't, the screen image is fine, it would seem like a physical laptop screen problem. Not the greatest advice in the world, but it may whittle down what potential problem it could be.

I've not got a VGA cable anywhere unfortunately. This is what i'm faced with, sorry about the darkness, took the pic before I went bed last night.

Sorry to bump this up but I'm going for 1 last shot. We've found out what's causing the problem but don't know how to fix it??
The laptop thinks it's a computer now
Before the screen resolution would max at 1280 X something under settings but now it'll stretch right upto 2000+ because it thinks It's displaying onto a proper monitor not the laptop screen. thats why I'm seeing a perfect square plus a duplicate extra, because the laptop screen isn't square like a monitor would be.
Only thing is, it doesn't seem to be letting me have the option of selecting my laptop monitor.

Any ideas lads??
