I'm thinking of buying a DVD Recorder/Playa and I wanted to get one with a 160Gb hard drive so I can plonk a load of mp3s on it, whilst using DVD-RAM discs to record the plop off the telly. I just wanted to know, is this possible and can these machines read m3u playlists? If anyone knows the answer I would be most grateful for any advice regarding best/worst brands. I've heard Samsung are proper proper proper shit.

Yes it is possible
and im sure they can play m3u playlists, if not then number them the way you want them to play
I use a samsung with a 250GB HDD
Only had one problem with it in over 12 months and that was due to a HDD malfunction which was cause by misuse (Nephew whacked it one as his dvd had finished 0.0)
