Has the world gone crazy?

Carol Thatcher has been effectively sacked from the BBC for using the word 'Gollywog'

So are my pictures offensive in today's sociaty?

Obviously you can see a 'gollywog' is this offensive to black people if so then surely my action men figures are offensive to white people, and to be perfectly honest they look a bit 'gay' stood there like the village people so i'm now offending the gay community. Finally, you can see a baby tiddling, 'aahhh thats sweet' some might say but am i now offending a percentage of people for putting porn on the net? or am i offending a section of the communtiy that says letting a baby pee freely is wrong and should not be allowed?

Has the world gone mad.

Would i offend anyone if i put a picture of a nice flower, i'm treading on thin ice as some might say it brings on astma, for hay fever sufferers, of if i show a nice picture of sycadellic 70's wallpaper, would i offend those who are epaleptic prone?

we never had this in the 60's!

Due to legal advise ive removed a section of this thread.

gollywog was also removed from all jam jars as it contributed to racism.

peeing child picture removed.

what did you find wrong with that picture, is it because in todays sociaty it could be used or classed as child porn?

aren't we allowed as a civilised sociaty to take a picture of our baby having a wee??

I understand that you might say, yes its ok to take a picture of a kiddy peeing, it looks quite funny, but its only for personal viewing, like showing to your gran or emmbarrasing your child when they are 20.

Not that it would be classed as porn

but its something that some people would consider paedophilic

persobnal viewing is ok but broadcasting it over the web/tv/etc could be seen as exploitation

Now I have some videos of my son, some when he was 1 year and 9 months in a small pool we bought him, he is splashing away and is naked and others where he is learning to walk and talk and some of him opening his Christmas presents. These videos are for family viewing only and was sent to my family along with hundreds of other videos and pictures of him from the age of 0 to 3 years old. I did not see the picture that was removed but would class it as inappropriate to be shown on a public site or any other place where it could fall in to the wrong hands. I would not class it as child porn but it could end up that way if it fell into the wrong hands.

As a civilised society we should be able to look at a picture of a baby having a pee and we should be able to laugh at it. Unfortunately there are hoards of people in society today that are uncivilised and would view the picture in another light. It's quite sad that this is the case.

I think you posted that picture knowing that someone would see it as inappropriate and that in my eyes proves the point of your thread.

I see rainbow riches has pictures of leprechauns on their slot machines - if we talk about them are we being racist to Irish people (oh I forgot it doesn't matter because they are white) ??? The whole thing's a farce - and in my opinion was orchestrated by that idiot Adrian Chiles to publicise his talentless self and crap show and hopefully it will blow up in his face..

It's getting so you can't say a sentence without doublechecking you aren't offending black and Asian people, the pendulum has swung way too far in the other direction.

Spot on

its alright for white people to have racist comments towards them

i.e

you cant say blackboard, you have to say chalkboard

you can say whiteboard whereas its a markerboard

friggin pathetic all this protection for the black people ( i aint racist btw )

i know quite a few black people & 99% prefer to be known as black as to their origin, cause i could say oo your jamaican, whereas hes west indian, now calling a west indian jamaican, thats racist

P.S: sorry for ranting :p

i didnt want this topic to go this way, we are not discussing racial jokes, we are discussing what we find socially correct.

I posted the baby peeing as i did not find it innaproprate at all, for those who did not see it, google it, just search 'actionman' basically, the baby picture did not come into muy head until i searched for those action man figures, all i wanted to say was did anyone find 'white' toys offensive. jokingly i put in they were like the 'village People' which might have offended gays. the whole chat around this is what is politically correct these day, but if its not ok for 'one' group why is it ok for another? We are having to start to think about what we say to 'different sets' of people.

By the way, after entering actionman, Christ id better change that, after Googling actionman, that little funny baby picture came up and i put that in as well to highlight another offensive or unoffensive topic.

That last sentance could easily offend i was going to change it, delite the word 'entering' but as i have said we are having to think about what we say, its easy to delite something you are writing to make it more 'appropriate' but if you are speaking the words you cannot go back and change your mind and rephrase it.

I have black friends, my son is in the army fighting with black lads, I'm not racist, i was brought up to call black people 'coloured people' becasue the word 'black' was a racist word, however, these days you offend black people if you call them coloured people.

I think we all need to go back to school and learn what to do these days, sociaty is changing so quickly!

Loads of gollywog memorabilia on ebay.I find them cool and don't associate them with black men.Jake had one from birth from an aunt.I, like most dads, have videos and pics of my son naked.Family and close friends are the only people who ever see them. There are a lot of sick people out there!
Political correctness has gone tits up:bigeyes04:
