Ha!

Bloody thing won't even boot from DVD. I downloaded the 64 bit version so it won't upgrade from Vista 32 either, not that I really want to upgrade, I'd rather do a clean install on another HD.

Currently downloading the 32bit version.

It is supposed to outperform both vista and XP. The bloated size may be because some of it is optional items to install. Why not install it on a virtual PC to test drive it. VirtualBox provide a good one. May only be able to install the 32 bits Windows 7 though.

Right ho!

Got the 64bit version up and running. Only one thing in the Device manager not picked up which isn't bad really :)

Basically for those who want to know it appears to be just Vista with a kick up the arse. By that I mean it seems faster but thats maybe because of the fresh install and I've not added all my usual programs etc as yet. There are a few nice touches here and there but TBH its only beenloaded about 30mins and I'm still finding my way around.

MFME runs fine or seems to, but I've not put it through its paces properly yet - including testing of the synth sound. Anyone got any suggestions as to what I might try as I'm not sure which machines had problems?

I'll report back later ;)

Sounds good.

Let us know if the sound problems have been sorted out regarding synth sound machines on MFME. If the sound works properly, I might even have a go at installing it. :)

Installed Windows 7 today and am just finding my way around.

However I've tried MFME and loaded up a few machines which use synth sound, Line Up (MPU3) Viva Las Vegas (MPU4) Manhattan Skylines (M1a) Open The Box (Space) Route 66 (System 80) and 777 Heaven (Proconn). The sound is distorted on all of them, apart from that they work ok. I had the same trouble when using Vista. When I install XP on the same PC the sounds all work perfectly.

All the newer machines are all working ok- but I do prefer the older games:)

Was there ever a way to fix the sound in Vista?

Has anyone tried any dvd burning software yet? I used an older version and could not get Nero to work.

Need to know if Nero and Clonecd work, cheers.
