Anyone help me,I have a laptop and the same problem as theabbey in the respect of low virtual memory. Is it possible to buy external memory like usb plug in?

I have 60GB HDD
Intel Pentium 4 processor 3GHz
256MB DDR Ram

Cheers if anyone can help I will try to reply ASAP
(problem being our lass jumping on lappy on Facebook evry five mins, lol, when my back is turned).

Low virtual memory means that the windows memory paging file or swapfile is running low, either by having to low a setting in your system settings or not enough physical hdd space to accomodate the swapfile, usually if it is to do with Physical Ram it tends to give you a windows is low on resources error

emachines are notorious for being royal pain in the arse machines to work on. try looking around the intel site, do a search in google for your mobo model number and find the intel based site.. lots of info and software and possible answers

Here:- Intel® Desktop Board D845GVSR - Intel® Desktop Board D845GVSR support

The model is almost identical to the t2240 series
The more i read about these machines the more i dont like, very similiar to gateway machines in design and spec. the emachine e2*** range of machines use a specific chip build type of ram, so off the shelf standard ram wont work. :(
There are stockists but it looks exspensive :( :( compared to standard ram :( :( :(

it looks like the driver has tried to load and failed and windows has defaulted to vga driver. reboot into safe mode and remove the driver and then reboot the system

windows by default loads a bog standard vga driver that is compatible with a 99% of all videocards.

Try this :- its emachines own GFX driver :- eMachines Support: Product Support and Downloads
seems they even had their own drivers modified...(#@#@#@#s)

Or try the email option stating you have a 2230 modeland require the specific Vga and chipset drivers.
