This was captured during yesterdays storm over East Yorkshire on my daughters mobile phone. Its just ONE FRAME on the video lol

Pretty good for a mobile though :)

Nice picture dad. I was on my local carpark roof the other day trying to catch the storm on my mobile. The lightning was close but for some reason never showed up on my video. I think the strike in you vid was very close and i bet it was bloody loud. It's nice to get a good vid like that. Did you stick it on youtube?

mobile phones have different capture speed rates. i guess dad's daughter was lucky to capture the pic at the right split second

I presume its a still frame from a video clip..standing outside during a thunderstorm with your mobile with your finger on the capture button..would be near impossible to capture a strike as a photo.

Lightning travels at speeds of up to 93,000 miles per second..id say youd need to have pretty good darm reflexes to catch it.
