Slowly but shorly my laptop is becomming slower by the min ..
its a new fujitsu siemens amilo li 1705 and runs on a intel celeron d processor and has a sub rating score of 2 ( which apparently is f***in shite ) and uses vista basic .. when ever i load a game the computer loads it intialises the machine i want to play but when i do play it the reels take about 5 seconds each to land and gets slower the longer it is on..

when im going to play a machine i go into task manger and end all memory eating programs like .. internet and msn and all that crap .. i clean the temporary folders and all the browsing history and cookies every day i go on it but nothing makes a difference .. so what do i have to do ??

any help would be much appreciated ..

Cardie..

Having said that though Todd mine randomly reboots on XP? Probably due to the fact it's half knackered! My PC is starting to slow down a lot recently though. So i was thinking of getting myself a laptop. Only thing is finding one with XP on it, at least until the Vista problems get ironed out.

I put Vista on my machine, it's only a AthlonXP 2400+ but with 2gig ram and it ran absolutely shite until my mate suggested I get rid of windows defender. My PC runs like a bloody dream now - i'd have never believed it but it's made a huge difference.

i don't think ye can go over the top with vista but if i'm correct its a reformat jobby then install vista

also check and make sure that your hardware drivers you have are also compatable with vista.
i don't know if vista still has issues relating to hardware software or not

Forgot to mention, Vista didn't like my SoundBlaster card either and that caused a bit of slowness too but not nearly as much as Defender.
btw you can just tell defender to shut down and not monitor anything in the security centre.
