I'm so old I think it was something by Vera Lynn or Glenn Miller :)

Not sure actually. I'll go and look it up and post later.

It was The Rolling Stones - Paint It Black.

My wife, born 2 weeks earlier than me, is lucky to have Norman Greenbaum with Sprit in the Sky as her no. 1 single.

Clive Dunn- Grandad. I really wish I hadnt looked !!
Where you came from, is gone.
Where you thought you were going, was never there.
And where you're at right now, aint no good, unless you can get away from it.

So who's gonna make the Fruit-Emu DOB members CD up then and sell it?

Could go platinum.

Mind you...looking at some of the oldies on here it could very well turn to rust instead ;)

Young man
It's fun to stay at the Y.M>C^A

At least it was when I was born. The Winter of discontent, strikes galore. No need to feel down. A proper British winter so I was told.

It's strange, you would have thought in the 28 years I've been alive I'd have ascertained what the number one single was at my birth. I would never have guessed that. Next wedding reception I'll listen to that song in a whole different light. Or sound.

Hey but then Ian Dury after that, classic stuff.
@_!!
