I hope that you all have a peaceful and happy one... I certainly hope that my start to the new year doesn't begin as it ended over the last few weeks!

 

My Mam was rushed into A&E about three weeks before Christmas with pneumonia... I rushed to the hospital to be with her, forgetting to take my own meds and was there over 12 hours with her, before my stepsister came to bring us back home... She was released home under the care of the staff at her carehome, otherwise they were going to keep her in hospital but heavily sedate her because of her advanced Alzheimer's Disease - it was an easy decision for me to make to let her go back home, as I believe that she would've died in hospital under sedation, trying to clear her airways of  the infection.

 

About a week later, I started to feel unwell... I shrugged it off as a heavy cold at first because that is what it just felt like - but then a few days before Christmas I was having to be laid up in bed, not being able to move and totally feeling as if I wasn't in my body at all... I felt awful. I shrugged it off after a few days because Christmas was coming and I went to my nephew's house to be with the kids for the festive holidays - feeling dreadful, but a bit more functional than I had felt for a few days.

 

However, a couple of days before New Year's Eve, I went to the shop and when I got in again, I passed out and when I came round my nephew had come and somehow managed to get me into bed... It is a good job he was coming that day otherwise how long I would've been on the floor, no one knows!

 

He managed to get me an emergency appointment at my GP surgery on 30 December, and my GP said that I had pneumonia and had had a flu virus, and that I should've gone to have seen him much before I did (which is contradictory at my GP surgery as you have to be dead usually for a fortnight before you get an appointment ).

 

Anyway. I have been put on two lots of antibiotics and have got to have an ECG and full blood tests next week, as it has had an affect on my heart with all the fluid (which I thought was just snotty cold lol).

 

Hopefully I will be on the mend soon...

Sad news to report today...

 

My darling stepfather Mac has passed away after a very long illness.

 

He was 74 years old, bless him - he had dementia and has died of pneumonia.

 

Be at peace 'Dad' xxx

Not a joke.. 

A young woman approached me in my local town of Ponypridd on Wednesday, looked me straight in the eye and said..

I have just presented the British medical board with a cure for Alzheimer's, you take a male doc leaf and breed it with a female leaf,

I quickly realised she had an obvious mental condition...BUT just for a second I thought if ONLY it was that simple,

It probably is, humanity just has to find that elusive solution, so we can finally beat this awful condition that effects so many of us.

I too have family members with this frustrating condition, and have experienced the gradual progression into, as you say "oblivion",

thoughts are with you always.

I know everyone's different but if I have a difficult decision to make I usually already know the answer, as I suspect deep down you 'also' already know 

what your going to do.

If it were my decision I'd probably give it a try, rather than spend the next ten years regretting it.

But as I say that's me, you and only you can make the final decision.

I'm sure you'll make the right choice for you whatever you decide, and at least your considering the choices while still able to.

Hello everybody, been trying to get Amber to install for ages without success. I keep getting the Run-time error "438 object doesn't support this property or method".

Now I've noticed the Amber installer has been removed from the emulator download page, is this because of problems (or is it just me being a bit of a thickie?).

I'd love to play Amber games, but I am a real novice.

Yes I know Vectra has a tutorial on emulators, but couldn't find anything to solve the run-time error. 

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Anyone remember the name of a machine that had something to do with a submarine?

The central reel would spin for the skill shot, and you had to stop it on the target with a depth charge?

You could always do what I did...

First select the 'Design' option & 'Edit mode'. (MFME 9.4)

Next, flip the screen orientation to landscape, 'as above'. ('short cut' ctrl+alt left arrow)

Now select all the parts of the fruity you cant normally see & drag them to the top part of the machine.

Then flip the screen back to portrait (Crtl+alt up arrow).

Drag all the selected graphics to the right hand side of the screen.

Finally de-select 'Edit mode'.

You now have a fruity in two parts... reels on the right, top board/features on the left.

Not ideal but playable.

Sorry Vectra I don't understand, I'm getting on a bit (51) not very technical, although I did get a diploma in programming back in the early 90s. not much call for Pascal today. LOL

I've got passed the Missing dx file error, now I'm getting

May I express my most sincere thanks to all the administrators, layout creators, supporters etc. for all the hard work and endless hours it must take to create the excellent emulations on the site.

Since  stumbling upon " Fruit Emu" over a year ago I have managed to wean myself off a SERIOUS gambling addiction. It was hard, but with the help of FME I've now managed to stay clean for six months. (Yes that's right I said CLEAN). The monkey is finally off my back. Thanks, Thanks, Thanks.

The only thing I cant manage to get to work is AMBER, which is a pity because the fruity's look awesome. keep getting errors while extracting the download. any thoughts?  

Yes Vectra I have tried to run as administrator, get the usual warning sign "program wants to blah blah your computer settings" I allow that, but still get the run-time error 438 object doesn't support this property or method.

Does anyone know if any of the Electrocoin machines will EVER be emulated?

I work for myself, so today was my last day until Jan 4th.   

Only trouble is I don't earn anything when not working.   

Still there are more important things than money, my grandson is happy I'm home

and my new puppy gets to bite me all day now.
