#298563 Introduce yourself

Posted by wearecity on 07 January 2017 - 05:23 PM in Any Topic Chat

Just wanted to say hello, (again) i have been away from the fruit machines for a very long time due to being out of control on them. I haven't played a real fruitmachine in the wild for about 3 years now but i love the emulators i got from this site a long time ago. Hopefully i can join in with the chat and banter and hope to join in very soon. Happy new year everyone.. Ian

While I suspect we support rival footy teams, massive well done on 3 years.

Use v5.1 to convert the layout into fml format.

Does anyone actually read the Release thread or change list?

Shaun2097 does  :jimlad:

I look forward to seeing the update, as a Ploggy DX is always an essential download, even when the machine isn't my cup of tea.  :cup:

Still finding layouts I didn't download first time around.

This time it's a very nice looking BWB Donna Kebab by Kriss

It's a quad lamp machine, so didn't work properly until v5.

All BWB, appear to have done here is change the graphics, but everything else is the same as King Kebab. All I've done, is consolidate the lamps and change the alpha.

Another Jpemu conversion.

Your Lucky Knight 1280 DX by Pook, on Impact Attached File  Your Lucky Knight.zip   13.08MB   22 downloads

We only had a 1024 DX for MFME for this, so was keen to convert a 1280, really high quality Pook dx. This proved to be easier said than done.

Warning, waffle follows below...but hopefully useful info for those looking to convert.

Normal way of converting is to use FMECONV 3.0 and then load in bits and pieces via MFME v5.1 and then save, so it opens in v6.0, not with this bugger though.

Trying to load the converted .dat file into every MFME version from v1.1 to v5.1 gave an invalid layout error or a violation error.

Only way I could convert it in the end was to use FMECONV 2.0, which converts it into a .res not .dat file and then use the 15 year old MFME v1.1 emulator, which is the last emulator to allow loading of .res files. But as v1.1 doesn't support Impact, I couldn't use v.1.1 to do anymore than to save it into .dat format. After that, the .dat file was openable in v5.1, the layout was set up and saved in v.5.1 and it now opens in v6.0.

Phew...

Here's Pook Maximum Overdrive 1280 DX converted from Jpemu to MFME.

We have a decent 1024 DX by Vecs, and I turned to it, to help with some issues here as some stuff like the reel belt, don't convert automatically. So doing this, also helped me see how to put in a reel belt and resize it etc and put the jailbar masks over the top.

I tried to follow, Reg's tips on this one, but not everything worked well, so I did what I could.

Few more, since the later emulators have been released.

Firstly, thanks to Zoro 29 over at The MPU Mecca for spotting the problem.

MPU 5 King Kerching, needs the datapak under the configuration screen set to no

Go into design mode, by pressing CNTL E, then click on configuration and change DataPak from loopback to no. Come out of edit mode by pressing CNTL E again and close the configuration screen down and press CNTL R to reset the machine.

Others that require a change under the configuration tab.

MPU5 Show Me The Mummy, requires hopper setting to None (I assume the correct emulation option) or Serial, to avoid the constant hopper motor and payout sounds. Again reset the machine, you will get an on/off alarm, once or twice after loading the layout again, but it will clear.

Scorpion 4 Club Pink Panther 1024 DX by Vecs, needed the hoppers uncheck, otherwise constant hopper motor and payout sounds.

Another Jpemu conversion.

Colour Of Money by JPM. £15, 30p.

It's appears to be a Euphoria clone.

Steveir made the Jpemu version.

The conversion of this had several issues after conversion, so I had to add/change quite a bit of stuff, due to this, I decided to make some further changes/enhancements.

Another Jpemu conversion.

Force 10 a JPM machine, set on £15, 30p, 86%

A popular machine back in the day IIRC. Surprised it hasn't been done on MFME before, unless I'm missing something.

Scorpion 2 High Flyer conversion from Bfmulator to MFME. Sorry I don't know who did the original.

Works fine, just can't get it at £10 Jackpot, managed to set it as 25p play, as per the background, with £8 jackpot. When originally converting it, it converted to 5p £8.

Sorry forget to apply the transparency. To get rid of the black boxes around lamps, do the following. Click, design, edit, then click design again, then lamp/mask export, then apply on the right hand side, under the column set to graphic.

Couldn't resist doing another , JPEMU to MFME conversion. Same as above, except this didn't have port holes in the first place

Pook's brilliant looking - Go For Gold DX

Didn't give much thought to naming Caesar Palace above, but as the name, needs to be inputted for layout, I should have named it by Pook, as of course it's all his fantastic work in the first place.

Another little improvement, which some may not know about is the 7 segs displays.

Load up Bedazzled for instance and look the display for picks. The little display, doesn't look good with the new emulator.

So go into design edit mode and you'll see you can drag off the overlay and reveal the true display underneath. You can then delete it altogether, by right clicking on it and err, pressing delete.

I appreciate, the layout designers are saying duh, really right now, but to people like me, it was a nice discovery.

Viva Mexico - This had no hoppers sets, check hopper 2 only.

Very Rich Geezer - This has a trace alarm 92, I believe no one knows what this is - Other than that, add checkbox 32, to clear refill message.

Also a good place to perhaps, remind people on how to turn sound up on scorpion 4 layouts, press f9, then tick refill. Now press the start button until you get to volume control, one more press will show vol main and then use buttons such as hold 1 and cancel to turn up and down volume. Sometimes by pushing other buttons, such as on this particular machine the stop and transfer, you can change other sounds, in this case the jackpot volume. Once done, don't forget to untick the refill button.

Tic Tac 2 - Need to go into configuration and change coin mech to Parallel. You do need to save changes and reload layout for it to take effect.

.

The Royle Family - I added hopper 2, to get rid of the refill warning on start up.

Casino Monopoly - £8, 20p by Mazooma - This has a coin mech error - Make sure the coin mech is set as Parallel in the configuration screen. Also right click the coin mech in edit mode and make sure bit0 1 is selected from the coin note drop down menu. After saving and restarting, it may coin mech error again and it'll take a while to clear, then you should be good to go.

Classic Crazy Fruits (AT DX I believe) - should only need to uncheck hopper 2. Other settings just in case, switches 18 service, 4 cash, meters in Meter 2-1 and out Meter 3-1 (meters can be left at 2-10 and 3-10, displays differently in meter count up), data pak no, sec no

Casino Crazy Climber (DAD's DX I believe) - If this coin mech errors, then follow what I said about Casino Monopoly above. Other than that, again uncheck hopper 2, from the configuration screen. Other settings just in case, switches 6 service, 8 cash, meters in Meter 2-1 and out Meter 3-1, data pak no, sec no

Club Bobby Dazzler If this coin mech errors, then follow what I said about Casino Monopoly above. This was open door for me, to correct that meters should be in Sec 2-10 and out Sec 3-10 and sec set to yes. Other settings, switches 6 service, 8 cash, hopper 2 unchecked, data pak no.

I'll look at doing a Scorpion 4 one.

Redhot6, I think was by AT I believe. Eurphoria, hmm, haven't got that, bit too small for me. Would look great in 1280 or higher res though  :cute: EDIT....Got it now, doesn't look too bad when scaled up. Still love to see a higher res of it though.

Here it is, I've changed the Alpha as well.

Don't forget, upon load, it won't take coins until the attract mode has started lol.

I thin Wizard said he wasn't bothered about Coinworld.

I was hoping it was due to Bear X and Cash Cops.

He did, although, I've a feeling, he's a man who doesn't like to be beaten, so I guess if he gets the info, he'll get them working someday.

This one was murder to find the offsets

Good work, with this one, unless there is an easy way, getting wins on an AWP to find settings is awkward, let alone waiting for a win on these. I also converted the alpha and to get rid of the green surround on the £2, do what Wizard said in the Razzle Dazzle club thread "That is because there is a spurious carriage return in the lamp Text, just remove it and save".

LOTR- Return to the king, has a pink one around it on hold 1. No carriage return, but I got rid of that by making it a Polygon. So it looks a bit like when a button breaks and the arcade, just shoves on a wrong button, just to keep the machine working lol.

Good news, about the fix, looking forward to the next version and going in and hopefully getting some more machines running properly, like Tetris and of course the Union Games machines.

Sorry guys, but Paparazzi, still needs the top feature sorting. The amounts awarded do not match the decal, I seem to remember, that this was an issue from initial release and was the case in Jpemu as well. Perhaps the source work was wrong, or for another jackpot version or the lamp numbers are incorrect. Doesn't ruining the DX though, but nice to see if it can be sorted. I'm off out now, so no time to really look.

Cash Bowl by Leeham and Pandy.

Reels needed offsetting. A different type of machine on spACE tech.

From what I remember it was a well known machine, but can't remember if players liked it, that much.

IIRC, this had problems with the emulator in the past on a feature or two. Not sure if they are corrected by the latest emulators, but seems to play fine at a basic level of testing.

Casino Crazy Keys - (Dad's DX I believe) - Switches 4 service, 2 cash, uncheck hopper 2, meters in Meter 2-1 and out Meter 3-1, data pak no, sec no

Casino Crazy Fruits - (AT, DX) - Switches 4 service, 2 cash, uncheck hopper 2, meters in sec 2-1 or and out sec 3-1, data pak no, sec, yes.

Casino Happy Notes - (Dad's DX) I believe - should only need to uncheck hopper 2. Other settings just in case, switches 18 service, 4 cash, meters in Meter 2-1 and out Meter 3-1, data pak no, sec no
