#313429 YouTube Emulation Extravaganza (sort of)

Posted by wearecity on 24 December 2017 - 05:00 PM in General FME Discussion

I don't remember any watch for my hidden treasures machines, just spinning in a jackpot. I also seem to remember they never gave a hold after nudge on the jackpots.

As for the free spot the ball win, seriously no munter would ever know that, because even a munter wouldn't take such a shite feature, with plus nudge and quick nudge, guaranteeing a £2.40/£4.80 win 99.9% of the time. Even on £6 jackpot, it would 99.9% of the time be better than spot the ball.

Love the odd moment of forgetting what you are aiming for and playing as you would in real life, i.e 12:05 in the video. As a watcher, I think WTF is he doing, then you realise. That one particularly made me LOL.

Haha, yep every time I start watching the videos, I think, alpha needs updating and in Thunderbird's case, a rogue space in the properties needs deleting, to get rid of that yellow off the mystery win decal.

This will be my Sunday night in bed, before Monday morning work entertainment. What could possibly top that. :cute:

Another enjoyable vid.

I don't think I'd have the guts or hold my nerve to have plugged them back in the day.

Agree the layout still looks great, after all these years.

Great video on Rollercoaster, Chopaholic! I wish i knew about the 1, 12 numbering back in the day! :)

Me too.

Heh, still doing yah balls in the real world, like on DOND - Next Level..... still the same old choppers :D

Yeah, but you just sorta knew he was going to come out on top. As someone once said on a video some years back, something similar to, that feature normally pays between £15-£20, unless your name is.......

Not sure whats up with the alpha,i guess your using mfme 5.1. Will update the alpha and segs when i get a min.

Possibly not updated layout with new alpha etc....

As for the videos.............

Great couple of early videos Chops.

I really do hope this set of videos and others, continue for a longer time, than previous attempts, always entertaining and we may even get to see that dance again.  :cute:

WMS obviously saw enough money to be made by licensing their slots to numerous casinos.

There is of course also the absolute rip off madness of paying real money and lots of it for fake coins on their Facebook/Apple/Android app.

I think that's the quickest emptier so far.

Is Super Charged even easier though?

Not watched the video yet, but this is one machine, we could do with a nice DX update.

The video does a great job of explaining it all from set up to what it can be useful for, but as said in the video it isn't for everyone.

I'd still like to see people getting together and uploading their current files for machines to a website. People could leave everything from nasty to extremely nice files, so like Forest Gump says, you never know what you're going to get.

P.S. Was watching this as the New Year came in.

I remember being sharked on Club Cops n Robbers, been playing for a while, then logged out as I went out for a meal, when I came back someone had squeezed the cashpot out...   I was a little bit gutted as I'd amassed quite a bit of cash from playing the normal AWP and had invested it into this.

J

LOL, just like you could in a real arcade. As annoying as it may be, that sort of thing does appeal to me.

But as Chopley says, when does and emulator stop being an emulator and I like the simple looking, minimal interface of MFME, with all the power hidden underneath the hood.

Would definitely be in though, if a 3rd party project was done for this sort of thing.

With Count Ya Cash, it amazes me how people know about the method in the first place. It's not like it's simple.

I understand how it gets passed around once it's out there. But initially it surely has to come from the inside I.E someone at Barcrest in this case.

Still lapping up the videos.

Ah ok, I see, everyone had a username/password. You logged in and got £30, reset every weekly.

You played machines, any available for the emulator I assume and not limited to one machine and once it was gone, it was gone.

I do sometimes, say to myself, ok £10 - £50 depending on what machines I'm playing, see how long it lasts. Yes it does then, make me play other features, rather than just going for it. I have left a few machines buzzing by running out of money. We have so many machines playable, if you're disciplined enough, you can easily go on to play other machines and forgot then it's a nice surprise when you come back to it, months later.

Probably I'm talking bollocks, but hey what's new.  :cute:

Another couple of entertaining videos. I do love when you get tongue tied also, no need for a end of year outtake video.

£140 on one credit, would Bell Fruit have been in trouble for that with the Gaming Commision, or whoever regulates and sets jackpot limits etc..

Going back to Thunderbird, I see cheerful pessimist mentions something about someone in Barcrest letting that cat out of the bag, in one of his videos.

I think the 'Auto Play' feature is a great new feature added to MFME, and I will definitely have a go at using it on a clubber, or two. :)

I can't believe how much of a difference it made to playing the emulated machines.  You were extra careful because you had limited money (like when playing in real-life) so you didn't push all-out for the jackpot like you do on the emulator most of the time.  It was as close as you could get to playing the real thing on a PC for me, without the fear of losing real money.

How did it work, why did you only have a certain amount of cash for instance?

Another entertaining video.

I used to hate Super Pots, never did any good, but didn't naturally know any tricks. To think even that it is programmed to always lose if it's going to give something above 4 quid repeat from the nudges etc...

It's one machine I remember well, from Butlins Bognor Regis. It was in the first ever over 18's only area, I had seen in an arcade, that allowed children in. Perhaps laws had started to come in, that any arcade that allowed children in, had to contain an over 18's section if machines were of a certain jackpot and/or all cash payout.

As for the layout, well it was stunning at the time of release. It still holds up very well IMO and MFME does a great job upscaling in F3 mode. However like Money, Money, Money, it would be great to see them both, get a 1280 + DX update. But then the same could be said about 100 + layouts lol.

#305017 youtube channel

Posted by wearecity on 15 June 2017 - 08:52 PM in Any Topic Chat

I'm really not sure what your beef with this guy is.

So he has a youtube channel he plays emulated games and other old fruit machines, sometimes live.

I've never seen him anything but polite on the forums here, Dad's or on his channel. Unlike some who play slots on youtube who just swear every sentence and people think their cool.

He wants to publicise his channel on FME forums. What's the issue, he's not making numerous posts daily or weekly about it, just the odd post now and then to point people towards it.

It's good to see FME get some publicity. If he makes a couple of quid from youtube (and let's face it, that's the issue really here isn't it), so be it.

At least he's putting in the effort, to create something that's fun to watch and interact with, rather than just sell a disc full of layouts on ebay.

#294345 You Have Exceeded The Maximum Amount Of Bandwidth That You Can Download For T...

Posted by wearecity on 16 November 2016 - 09:57 AM in Complaints

Hello,

i can't download anything above 10 MB (member since 2010). I know the daily limit, but even after waiting two days i can' t download the following layouts:

30.39 MB Clouseau's Revenge 3 Player
10.63 MB Club Pink Panther
22.02 MB DOND - Double Take

Can you help me?

Thx

Are those layouts really that big?

Another thing you could do is join The Mecca. Most layouts are released over there as well, so you can spread your downloads over the sites.

Shame fruit forums is still out of action that had plenty of download bandwidth.

A challenge for you, the oldest and newest machine by actual real machine release date, next to each other.

#302980 You best moments with mfme 5 so far

Posted by wearecity on 27 April 2017 - 04:07 AM in General FME Discussion

I've no real favourite layout release and/or tech release TBH, they have been several corking releases looks wise and some interest releases tech wise. I still hanker after seeing machines from the older techs, such as some more spACE machines, Money Mountain, Beau Peep, Crimewatch and Proconn hi-tech machines, in DX form such as Chico The Bandit, plus updates to some layout, like what Tommy did with Cluedo.

I've actually enjoyed the whole general thing and doing stuff in the background, like sorting out my game manager, getting some of the older releases updated in the DIY fixes thread and playing some of the previous releases properly with doors closed or how they were in XP, sound wise.

If I'd used the game manager before, I would say, that the best feature in the new MFME's, was the enhanced version of it, but as I didn't use it before, full screen borderless mode, which particularly, when the layout has no or suitable side art, makes the experience much more immersive.

Wizard had said performance will be improved iirc for video in the next update. So I guess that means speed up tweaks for affected machines.

Attract sequences for S5 I think are slower than the real machine, highly likely it's determined by how lamping is done and size of the layout definitely matters.

Other than that, I occasionally get slightly sluggish reel spins.

#303485 You best moments with mfme 5 so far

Well they look cool, but I'd probably only consider it, if it was already built for me. I'm just no good with this sort of thing, I'm so cack handed. I could manage the configuration part using the software and the emulator though i.e. changing what button does what etc...

I'd imagine, it would bring a whole new level of realism to playing machines.

I guess you could use a controller built to play arcade games via the MAME emulator or any other controller, that works on the same principal and same software. But the buttons would be of a design on an 80's and 90's arcade coin op and not your typical buttons found on a fruit machine.

I had an x arcade stick, years ago http://highscore.com/contest/

I think the ulimate is still something like Spa shows here

Now that is real cool.

#296696 Xmas - memory from the 80's

Posted by wearecity on 10 December 2016 - 10:00 AM in Any Topic Chat

My mum, used to do the jumble sales as well. In fact even though, she isn't short of money now, she still loves to find a jumble sale or similar on a Saturday morning.

#296562 Xmas - memory from the 80's

Posted by wearecity on 08 December 2016 - 05:58 PM in Any Topic Chat

I really see Christmas is mainly for kids.

I was born in 1970, so was a kid really until 1987. For that time, we were largely a one parent family, without any money at all. But my mum always made it special, we'd have the plastic tree up in early December and the cards we'd made at school. We'd have some decorations up and a piece of string with received cards all along the wall.

Xmas day, was always a simple day, which followed the same pattern, wake up with a black bin liner of presents, nothing major, little bits and pieces until I was about 10 or 11. Then in the 80's we'd start to request presents we would like.

We never had a big family who lived nearby, so mainly it was, me, brother, mum, nan and my mum's cousin, who we always saw as an uncle.

After presents, we'd start to look through the Radio and TV Times (yes the Radio Times, had just BBC and the TV Times, just ITV, then Channel 4, when it started, back in the day). We'd plan what we were going to watch, in the 80's we had a video recorder, so could record the odd programme as well.

As as family, we never ate our Christmas lunch, at any time except around 12-1.

Then it was TV and playing with our presents, including some ZX81, ZX Spectrum and C64 time, on the big TV, until the telly we really wanted to watch started. Then it was just eat chocolates, dates, mince pies, christmas pudding, pull crackers, and watch tv, until it was time for people to go. But we sat in the living room, some on bean bags, as a family.

Boxing Day, was always about footy for me and my brother, then it was a case of just waiting until New Year and school (yuk!!) restarting.

Nowadays, I'm single, so don't bother with a tree, decorations and as a family we don't bother with presents. I still get together with my mum and brother, we still have Lunch at lunchtime, but we don't bother with crackers. There's nothing ever much on tv that interests me and so we generally do our own things, not really as a family.

I still enjoy Christmas time, as it's a different largely fun time of the year, with children getting excited and full of people generally having a fun time. But I do largely treat Christmas Day, as any normal day, that I'm off work.

As per title.

What you doing on this Christmas day, anything special or just trying to sneak out for a bit of MFME time.

Just enjoying having a day off work myself and as usual spending the day with my brother and mother, eating, drinking and then hopefully avoiding being sick.
