i guess if your machine is stand-alone (or at home without an engineers presence) then fair enough.

why would you want to backup the Hd on a triple 7? IMHO its only the old rio cabinet that needed this done - and thats because people were fcking around with different bpak files. elvis on the repro was corrupt and gave no end of errors for everyone.
whilst there is nothing wrong with precaution, HD backup is a term repeated so many times that its been taken on as gospel that it needs to be done on all barcrests - no so peeps.

the PC and the MPU6 are totally different units. The PC runs windows and the software needed to load and run the program. this works in tandem with the MPU6. what this does is takes care of the acceptors/slots and I/O. just like a real barcrest fruit machine but the PC take care of the screens whereas the MPU would have taken care of the reels.
updates generally speaking are security updates or patches to the existing code. one such update for the PC allowed the stacking of notes to be split between stake notes and stake excess notes (excess to your original float if you had a note recycler and you had say a £500 float to start you off). MPU updates could be acceptor firmware updates or tighter security on all peripherals attached.
hope that helps
* press the demo button when your in demo to `speed up` the process !!

no it doesnt corrupt the hard drive, it corrupts the barboot installation.

Cool,
What is lucky Strike like?
dire reel game but the features are excellent.
Ok, that'll mean that maybe if we're lucky Stuart from star lesiure or someone else may get them in for sale, what's the difference between 777 and 888 or is just in the name and what in your opinion is the best game out there
the t8 is basically a larger 3 screen cabinet, note recycler, high spec speaker system and more games will eventually run on it. that sais ive seen a triple777 with identical games on as a t8 and also networked.
I prefer the triple777 games as you can gamble the wins.

I was wondering if Nails knows about these games and if they would work on a Enhanced Rio Cabinet with a mark 5 pc.
B3 Golden Charms 7.3.5 (build 73).bpak
B3 Rainbow Riches 7.3.4 (Build 47).bpak
CD Cashino O.S (Build 63). bpak
CD Jackpot Joker 1.2 (build 43).bpak
CD Lucky Strike 3.2 (build 21).bpak
Rainbow Riches - RRLT 7.4 (build 33) bpak
These are the games I purchased from BigBalls for £40
Yours Terry( Pelham)
i dont wish to sound thick - but what do you mean you purchased them? you paid £40 for a disc containing 6 .bpak files that you dot even know if they work?
for starters, bigbollocks should be ashamed of himself, for all terms and purposed this is a PUBLIC DOMAIN fruit-emu website, and i`d like to thing he will give you the money back minus the disc money and postage. Running software not designed for the rio can cause it to crash and become unstable, resulting in a clean install being needed. if you want to play around i suggest you leave the pc cover off and have another HD you literally strap on and play around with.
if im wrong about this transaction then i do apologise, if im right then BB has some explaining to do.

Hi mate, sorry for delay in reply have been trying to get my machine working as it comes up with ALARM Error Code: 16
MPU5 comms error .
Go to the messanger envelope at the top of this page, click on it and then click compose message then type the name of the person you would like to message.
write message and then send
your mpu5 (where the plugin security chip is) is not communicating with the PC, check the USB cable or even replace it. the data is not getting through. hench the reset and it works. mpu's usually reset almost instantly but PC's can take a min or 2.

sorry to go over old groud, does anybody have any bpak files other than the 12 files + 1 executive update on the repro ?
(coincidently, is their a way to downgrade if the executive has been run previously ?)

i think we have been over this time and time again - access the HD on your pc and completely clear the install directory. when you reboot the rio it just goes to the main menu page stating that no game has been loaded.

if it helps, and you dont have the experience, i will burn/ghost the image for you to the HD of your choice free of charge.
all you need to do is post me the HD's in question and also repeat the money for return postage. would probably come to £5 each way carriage.

I think I need to reimage or get a new HDD for my Rio Enhanced Cab
After trying to sort out the ALARM Code 16: MPU5 comms error I now get the PC blue screens.....Yikes
Or buy a new Rio Enhanced machine from Stu at Star Leisure
Stu offers an excellent service to all his customers, you may find a cabinet a bit cheaper elsewhere but star leisure's machines are in tip top condition - which will help you should you wish to resell.
dont f*ck with the HD unless you have the means to clone it. end of.

I would say no as the image has been prepared for a particular MB with wondows embedded software. their is no harm in trying but its almost certain you would have driver failures left right and center
