Hi All
I know that i am getting a nice 250GB Hdd for my valantine pressy, and i am also off work tomorrow as i am getting a nice shiney new V+ box fitted in place of my old NTL digial box, however this means that the repro server will not be off line for approx 1/2 to one hour tomorrow (Wednesday 14th Feb (Just incase you have forgot lads its valentines day still time to nip out and buy a pressy and save your balls, from greaf )) I cannot give you an exact timeing yet but I am guessing it will be in the morning sometime between 9am and 10am, I will keep the downtime to a minimum, I only have to fit the drive and then switch it back on i will format under XP this is to replace a small 40GB one.
Regards

Hi All
The server is going off line as soon as the MS patches have been installed that way I only have to one reboot lol should only be off line for 1 hour max but i am predicting much less outage time than that. Thanks for the info on the V+ box once its installed i am back on the phone to cutomer services to switch to the VIP package for £85 a month, i gets all the movies and sports 1+2+3 and the v+ box plus 10mb broadband and talk unlimited for that much less than I am paying now for just the phone 10mb and the family pack.

Hi
I see you were having problems in the early hours, this could have been due to NTL (er sorry Virgin Media) as thay tend to do rebalanceing in the early hours so thay may be times when ealry mornings you cannot connect this is beyond my control.

Hi Cliff I am also with Telewest/NTL/Virgin Media or whatever they like to call themselves these days and for the last few weeks I have been noticing that morning time I can get download speeds of about 1.25-1.50mbps..yet come 9pm onwards it drops to about 100-150kbps.
When I phoned them to enquire about it they said it was sumat to do with the signal to noise ratio or summat like that and they were in the process of sorting it out..would this have anything to do with that ?
Mmmmmm...Sandy ive 'ad her ye know.

Hi
Its more likely to do with traffic shapeing but thay will only admit that thay are doing this to you if you push them hard, there have been some posts on this subject at the cable forums and in the forums of digital spy I dont have links at the mo but nip over there and search on traffic shapeing and you will find the information you need.
