Hi people, I've recently got a job as a fruit machine technician with a large arcade group. I've got access to all the new fruit machine chips. I play them at work (in test mode) but I'd like to practise on them at home too. What equipment would I need to read the info from the chips and store them? I'd be more than happy to read in all the latest games and of course share them here if anyone could tell me how to read the chips?
Reading Game Info From The Software Chip?

i also used to be a fruit machine engineer.
workrd for a small company called jcw automatics for 5 yrs, then went to work on the pride of bilbao p+o ferries as a casino tech, and i then opend my own amusement arcade (only lasted 1 yr, got burgled with no insurance)
dont ever give the job up as its one of the best jobs going, and i hoping to get back into it soon myself.
as for copying the roms of newer games....
if its a barcrest, bfm, vivid, mazooma, maygay, astra, electrocoin or impulse to name a few.. dont bother as there is no emulator to run the newer technology that these machines use at the moment.
however some jpm machines can still be run on current emulated technology (jpemu 1.46)
to obtain the code though u will need a eprom reader, which if u work for a large leisure group, surley u will have an eprom reprogrammer???
anyhow, good luck

as shaun say's u need a e-prom reprogrammer/copier, software,pc. to do this.
if u don't have a copier u could try brent spares in london or suzo spares. they are priced from about £400+ depending how much u wanna spend. or you could try looking on ebay from time to time as they do crop up now and again.
i use 1 to download from the bulletin boards,to get the latest versions, software updates ect ect.
