A new PS2 game won't fit on a CD, more like a dual layer disc?

Best try newsgroups, you get most console games on there, or just hire one and clone it.

to play the copied discs your gonna need to chip your playstation, its not expensive to do anymore and im sure once C90 see's this thread he'll give you the low down. Believe he's just in the process of chipping his nan at the moment :D

As for downloading em, torrents are a start, or if you dont mind spending a few quid (under tenner a month) then you can get them from Newsgroups, damn fast and as many as you like.

You called? :D

Right id say by far the easiest way of playing backups is to use Swap Magic.

You wont invalidate your warranty if you have one because you dont need to open the console.

the slide tool version is for the fatter ps2's and the magic switch is if you have a slimline one :)

Basically you get 2 discs one for running cd games and one for dvd games, you boot up the ps2 with the SM disc then just follow on screen promts and switch disc for your backup, its that simple ;)

However if fitting a chip is what you want to do then fine, most installs are about 16- 20 wires and you can play backups from boot like normal, play dvd's from any country and also use homebrew.

There are no-solder chips available but they arent foolproof and can be awkward to fit

The downside to this is you run the risk of messing up your ps2 permanantly if you dont know what you are doing.

There are loads of chips on the market but cant I advise on which one to get as they all cater for different needs and im a bit rusty on the ps2 scene as I haven't owned one for ages.

As for the games themselves yeah you can get them from torrent sites or newsgroups or if you are really lazy just rent em out from blockbusters and copy them ;)

Cd games are only used on the really old ones so it will definatly be dvd

Yes jim I sucessfully installed NanChip2000, she now does the cooking, cleaning and entertains me without argument.
