As some of you may have noticed Duplu has added a new help option on the homepage called 'LIVE SUPPORT' and also the 'Support/Contact us' section on the main menu (Pictured below).

Basically what this is here for is if anyone is needing help with the site or general FME related problems they can now use this.... this is a good way for people to get the help they need and also not cluttering the forums up with the same questions everyday.

When you see that it is marked ONLINE that will mean that an Administrator or Moderator is there for a one to one chat to help you with the problem you may have..... it will be basically like an msn chat.

Once you go on it we should be with you in seconds depending on if we are helping someone else at the time.

If on the other hand when you look it sais we are OFFLINE then this doesnt mean we cant help you, just leave a message there and and it will send a ticket to the support suite, when we check one of us can assign ourself you your ticket and respond you you as soon as we can.

Remeber, alot of questions you may have would have already been answered in the knowledge base or in the tutorial section ( even somewhere on the forum, so try a search) so try to look at these sections before using the live support.

Hopefully if this is all used properly by users it could be a great addition to the site.

Please let one of us know if your having any problems with the new program.

Hmm I cant... To busy and I dont know enough.
Is the Support OK for asking questions eg what I'm wondering now..."Do I have to be able to FIX the problems as well as spot them during playtesting?"
I've got something regarding the forum which has gone wrong...I reported but I made a typo and that was the highlight of the post...Would it be OK to ask questions like that in the Support?
Cheers,
CB

Thanks for the offer, but it's only answered by (as moco said) Admins and Mods.

Yeah, feel free to ask anything..........though in your case a PM would be easier.

This is more for the 'newer' members....remember the threads....I tried and I cant do it etc.....This will allow a 1-2-1 and get them up 'n' running.

just tired it and was on hold for at least 23 seconds, some funky music playing then got someone in india? whats that all about :D

But seriously though, very useful feature, hopefully it will be noticed though because in all honesty i spotted it before and thought it was an advert at first, wonder if it could be more prominant.

Oh and possibly one little bug, i got a hello from whoever was online with me (apologies for messing whoever it was about :D) but when i typed anything my nickname came up as Duplu......now i know i'm the real brains behind the designing of this website and the godfather of fme but i'm pretty sure i aint duplu ;)

lol it was me you got Jim, i can see the IP of a user and then check that on Mod control panel if need be......;) which i did with you lol. (thought it might have been PT lol).

Yeah everyone comes up with the name Duplu.... im not sure if this can be changed, its not the end of the world though.... i mean if people want to give thier name to us they can.

Its been pretty busy there over the last couple of hours so i guess people are noticing it.... i think a copy of this sticky thread should probly be placed in a couple more sections on the forum just incase people miss it in this one.... just trying to figure out how do it now without the same thread being brought up on this main page loads of times lol
