If you ever thought you were the master of fruit machines play that ^ and if it hasnt confused the crap out of you you're missing the point.

Quite simply that has to be the most amazing, cunning, sneaky piece of seemingly random programming ever.

Quite simply, astounding.

I bet if you looked in the dictionary you would see this..

Fruit machine coding.. See "twilight zone further encounters"

if i remember correctly this machine was a bit raved up with its orignal sound rom. i think that it used to play the intro ("the twlight zone" by 2 unlimted) the bit with the WO! in it.

it would be cool if the orignal sound roms turned up for this.

in the arcade we used to have it in (arcadia in falmouth) it used to eat money for days on end and then boy would it run. this was without a doubt one of the greedest machines ever, but would pay off big style when it ran. ive know it to do runs in excess of £100 (mostly tokens!!) this was obviusly down to the rom version it was running, so i can wait to give this a hammering tonite to see if it is possible to get the same kind of runs. whats the highest anyone has gotten so far?

I got a good few streaks out of it.. mostly around 40 quid but some went for as high as 60's.

The last one I had was awesome, it kept spinning in 3 blue 7's and then leaving a 16 or 1 on the reels for a easy jackpot steal.. it did this about 8 times in succession..

As for 2 unlimited, well tbh I think I would rather have the soundrom I made than that, infact I would rather have a bullet in my head than listen to 2 unlimited..

:D

havent tried it yet, but i used to love the machine, there used to be a trick to seeing if it was ready?
on one of the ones i played, which was 10p a go it was quite easy, all you had to do was get 10p's and put them in one at a time? if you rememeber it would stutter sometimes on the last spin??? then the next credit in, it would hidden feature, hold them all, let them spin, or two boxed spin for nudges, etc etc . so the way to get more hidden features was to play 10p at a time, if after about $2 no features, or no stutters then leave and try again later.

I am not sure if i am correct but i have a theory about how the 6 zones work.

I believe that every time you get on to the twilight zone features they move round once, ie: 1st time, mystery cash is zone 1, 2nd time it will be zone 2, 3rd time it will be zone 3 and so on...So while playing you have to keep track of where the features you want are going to be, otherwise what would be the point of having a skill chance to select the zone you want if the feature it gives is completely random??

Like i said it is only a theory and could do with some further investigating, and to be honest i am too lazy to do it lol! but i thought i would but my thoughts forward just in case any of you want to test this theory.

Anyway, all that aside it is an excellent release, thanks!

NOTE:Actually i have just played it for 20 minutes and managed to get zones 2,3,4,5 and 6 in order and every time i got mystery cash which would coincide with my theory

Hi,

I got bored so i decided to test my theory out over a decent period of playing time and it works, i have worked out where each feature is in relation to each other. The features are set out like this...

1. MYSTERY CASH
2. WARPED SPINS
3. NUDGE WARP
4. BONUS BARS
5. FUNNY MONEY
6. WHEEL OF FORTUNE

So lets say for instance you get the Twilight zone feature and you get ZONE 1 and it gives you BONUS BARS, you know on the next Twilight zone feature every feature has moved round one place, so BONUS BARS will be in ZONE 2. So you can now work out where all the other features are from here which will help you to decide wether to exchange cash for feature, or which Zone to hit if given a skill chance.

I hope i have explained it ok and this info helps you all to enjoy the layout even more, i must admit though it can be hard work keeping track of where the features are, my advice is to use pen and paper and keep notes lol.

Did you ever see this in the wild?
I never thought anyone would ever twig onto this trick at the time,
but yes it was done quite deliberately,
and we were later told it was quite illegal :bigeyes24:
